    Server issues

    Earlier today the server had a hiccup or something and the archives went blank (not the data just the pages). In trying to get them back, the main forums went blank. Our host was able to bring the active forums back however the archives are still blank with no eta on them being visible.

    Just to be clear the archive data is fine, it's all there and not broken :)
    Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
    Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
    Question: What's wrong with my account?

    Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

    It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
    Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
    Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
    Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
    Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

    Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

    Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

      Hi Mike,
      decided to go thru the archives and print all my archived conversations, however I’m coming up with blank pages, and my settings say I have only 2 posts. I signed up in 2007 and was very active at the time, and a few years afterward. Can you offer any advice?

        The archives are on my list of things to fix. I'm hoping to get it done relatively soon. Need to set up some stuff behind the scenes with the host so I need the time off to work with them :)

          Hi Mike,
          Thank you so much! Even if people don’t drop by often, perhaps through healing or otherwise, those pages are as precious as medical records in many ways. I’m having issues with memory and decided I’d better get the written history before I lose it all “upstairs”. ;op

            So I'm stuck on the archives, the server keeps telling me that the files aren't there, when they clearly are. I'm working with our host to figure it out, but the error logs aren't showing anything (and the host can see the files so at least we know they are there).

              Hello folks

              In attempting to get the archives back online, the host and I made some changes that didn't work and the forums were down for a bit. In order to get BT back online we had to do a full restore from June 28th, so some posts and pms may be missing. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can do about that :
