While we can blame a lot of our inactivity due to the years of neglect from John, some of that blame falls upon myself, David, and Dan. I have a "to do" list for BT that currently has 74 different points to address. The huge majority being stuff done behind the scenes that members won't ever see. Remaking the logo is on that list, we won't change the name BrainTalk, but we are tossing around ideas about what to use instead of the "Online Patient Support Groups for Neurology" bit.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

My concern about changing the name of Braintalk is that former members will be unable to recognize it on a Google Search. Unless we rename it, and include "formerly known as Braintalk," some folks might not know we are here.

I also think that "Braintalk" is iconic, in that it has been in existence for so long, and it was the first of its kind.

If I had a to do list with 74 items, well ... hmmm ... I don't know, but God Bless You for tackling this major task!

No matter what you change here ~ the logo, the motto, the home page, the skins ~ this is Braintalk, and its essence is the same. WE, the community of Braintalk members, are Braintalk. And we'll be here no matter what the place looks like or what it's called.

As always, thank you Mike, Dan, and David, for all that you do to ensure that we always have a place to come home to.

      Love & Light,
