    New category sort order

    Howdy folks

In an effort to make finding the neurological forums easier to find I have changed the sort order of our categories. The neuro forums are now at the top, followed by the category for forum feedback and the like.

None of your bookmarks will be affected, it's just a change in the looks. Let us know what you think of the new sort order.
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?

Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".

It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.

    Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen

Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.

Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

    hey mike!

well, i almost clicked on your name to send you an email about half the forum missing, but decided it was premature .

it'll take some getting used to. what about putting the "braintalk communities support" at the top? it's a short grouping and i think it gets lost there in the middle (is it possible to put the "chatroom feedback" in a closet somewhere and bring it back if the chatrooms come back?), that would make that category even shorter. i feel we need to have that direct line to you right at the top with all the feedback categories and the moderator connection and especially the "new visitor introductions", so that new members see that right away. and come to think about it, why not change the name of that forum to "new member introductions", since visitors can't post and you have to become a member to post?

then i would suggest putting the "general subjects" at the bottom. that separates it from all the medical categories and since it's a busy category (and a favorite of mine ), you could just scroll down to the bottom to get to it.

i think making a "cancer" forum and putting all the cancers in that sub-forum was a stroke of genius .

    just my humble opinion...

I agree with all of tic chick's suggestions. The one I would most like to see is having the Support category at the top.
        SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Good suggestions, implemented and changed Forum Feedback to BrainTalk's feedback forum.

Interesting changes. Where are the general forums like "Computers and Tech" and Advocacy??? I do not see them.

I know I've been gone too long. Every thing in my life is turned upside down so when I finally found Brain Talk I could not find anything, nothing in the right place.
Thought I needed to find my way out when I landed in Chronic Pain. I'll find my way around sooner or later. now that I've looked it over about 3 hrs. I may just make it.

It looks nice and neat. I think its a keeper.

thanks Mike. You are a keeper too. s

Thanks, Mike. I'm wondering where the threads are to post questions and things like that.

It has been a while since I have been here and I found the general appearance of the list of forums good but WHY are headaches and migraines not classified in neurological conditions?
