    Question about spammers?

Since I have never encountered this poster before, exactly what does prn spammers mean? What do they post? What is their purpose for posting on a MS board?

    Hello!

Prn is short for p*o*r*n or p*o*r*n*o*graphic spam (I use the *'s because the filter would substitute ****'s for words that are on the banned list).

P*o*r*n spammers usually post links to websites with adult sexual content on them or they post pictures directly from those sites.

Spammers who post adult sexual content post anywhere or they notice which forums are busiest and post there, since more people would see their links or pictures. Some spammers are paid for the number of posts they post on forums, some spammers post sexual content for the shock value and some post for other reasons that we'll never know.

It is upsetting to see graphic sexual content on your forum and I'm sorry it offended you. There has been a tremendous drop in spam in this new forum because spammers can't post pictures until their 11th post and usually they reveal they are spammer's on their first post.

What you might see now is a post written in a foreign language or maybe a link that has a sexual term in it. You can always report a spam post by using the little black triangle that's on the lower left side of the spammer's post.

They are not targeting the MS forum because it is about Multiple Sclerosis. They see a lot of people are in that forum before they post so they want a lot of people to view their post.

    I'm sorry for your distress.

      Spammers

No need to apologize as I have not ever seen this type of p*o*r*n* on the MS forum. I was asking because it was brought up in a reply to a post that I made when I was attempting to post the title of the book written by a MS patient entitled "Awkward *B*i*t*c*h". Thank you for your assistance.
