um hi im kitty, im new to this whole forum thing and im quite nervous about it. im here because ive got some suspicions about my neurological care and all the doctors i talk to keep being dismissive of my concerns. i thought this forum looked like a very nice place for people to talk about these kinds of things so here i am. im hoping to figure some things out about myself while im here. if anyone has any advice for a first time forum user id love to hear it because if im being totally honest the way all of this is formatted gives me a bit of a headache. if anyone can tell me how to change my avatar or profile picture or whatever its called that would be great too.

About the avatar, if you find your user name at the top right of the screen and click on it, then click on My Profile, you'll find you're at a page called User Profile.
Over on the left of that screen, you'll probably see the "default avatar" but it will say Edit Avatar on it. Click on that and you'll get to some options. You can "browse an image from your hard drive and upload" or you can "copy and paste an image URL from a hosting site." Or you can just give up and choose the "default avatar."
Most people like to upload an image from their hard drive. You should be taken directly to your own files where you can choose an image. I just changed mine to make sure it was still working. You will be cautioned that there is a size limit on the image (120x120) and that any image larger than that will be resized to fit that requirement. After that resizing is done, you might not like the result. So you may want to tinker with it for a while.
I should mention that I use a desktop PC. Things may work a bit differently on a mobile device. I hope all of this information coming at you isn't too discouraging.
