Good Morning- glad to find this site

I had my confirming Angiogram yesterday, and fully expected to hear that I would have a coiling for my unruptured right cerebral aneurysm or I would be told that we would watch and see( This second option was causing me more worry as I just wanted Malificent( I named it) gone. I was not really prepared for my Neurosurgeon to tell me after the procedure that I would need to have Clipping because my aneurysm stem was too broad for coiling. I also have PKD so not sure what to do next. they are already scheduling my surgery. Should I get a second opinion and if it's wide then it's wide so why would I risk coiling if it may not work? Looking for some feedback from anyone who has been where I am and willing to suggest next steps. Also, I have a well recommended Surgeon out of Tufts, Boston and can get a second opinion from Another top guy at Beth Israel- Both are top Aneurysm specialists. Thanx in advance...

Hey Mary, I'm having an angiogram tomorrow to confirm what my Doc already suspects... That my Annie is going to need clipped. After researching a bit it seems like the invasive surgery is the better option in the long run? IDK.. I go back and forth, one minute I'm ready; the next I'm terrified. Anyway, just thought I'd reach out and let you know you're not alone. Take care, John

If you can get a second opinion, then I suggest you do so. Just to rule in/rule out and put your mind at ease. Make a list of questions to take with you to your appointments, and if something is unclear, don't hesitate to ask the doctor for further explanation.

Hey, that's ok I've been down a few days anyway... The angiogram was more difficult than I expected! I see my NS this Friday the 13th... Good thing I'm not superstitious! Yikes. How are you holding up? Well I hope. I know the toll it's taking on me mentally is exhausting. Hope you've found some peaceful moments. Take care and keep in touch, John
