Hi Alex, et al.,
So sorry that you're feeling the way that you are from what I could glean from the thread you started. I'm also sorry that it was locked, although I'm not sure of the reason it was.
You know, Braintalk has been many things to me over the past 10 years. I've watched it run the gamut from me not being able to keep up with the 3-5 forums I used to read, to having nothing at all to read. It seems that there was either way too much activity, or hardly none at all. What I do know is that BT literally saved me several times--and you know what? It didn't matter if anyone replied or not.
What helped me was getting my frustrations out and into the open. At first, I felt, "out of the clique" if I received fewer replies that I thought were merited by my problems or postings. I then realized that, while I write here to help me, perhaps my postings help another as well, and if that's the case, then it doesn't really matter who replies to me.
I was a little confused by your thread, as you seemed upset that so many had viewed, but few had replied. Later in your posting, you said the opposite. I guess I'm not really sure what got you so upset.
What I'm rambling about, I think, is that these things ebb and flow. We have no idea why activity goes up and down as it does, and trying to figure the reason(s) out, can, quite easily, drive us mad! CP's don't need that stress in our lives, I think that we can all agree. It's like electricity in our homes--we push the switch and the lights go on or off. We don't try to figure out why they do what we want them to, we're just happy that they do.
Sometimes the switch doesn't work, and in that case, we leave it to the Elec. Company (the experts) to figure it out and fix the problem. In this case, time is what I consider the expert--I have no control over how many replies I get or don't get.
This forum is bigger than me. It's also more important than I am. It's out here for everyone who reads it. The administrators seem to have done all they can to give us the links to the older versions of BT so that we can go back and see what was said about things we may now be interested in.
THE POINT??? Don't take it too personally--you'll drive yourself nuts. When frustrated, employ "RULE 62" Don't take yourself too seriously. It's not all about you (me). It's about us all. By posting as you do, you have no idea who you are helping. Be assured though, that you ARE helping someone, who will then come back and do the same--pay it forward.
I'm interested in what you have to say. I may not have time to write back. I may have a boss who looks at all of my email--and yes, I have had those bosses, over whom I have no control. Your issue may not apply to me, and in that case, I probably won't write back. That doesn't mean by any stretch of the imagination that I don't care or wish you the best. That's where faith comes in.
Does any of this post make any sense? It may be as clear as mud to you and if so, I'm sorry about that. Notice though, that I didn't address this post to you exclusively--someone else may get something out of it. It may be a huge waste of time for 100% of you who read it. It's just my very humble opinion and I'm sticking to it!
Best to all who read this and my wishes to you for pain-free days and nights,
Annie B.
(Please excuse any typos, I don't have any more time to proof what I wrote.) It's rainy here today, my energy is sapped, and I have a meeting to help plan my 6 year old's Halloween party at school.
