Hi Jim, it is nice to have you back again. I have been around since 1998 and seen this place go through many changes. I am hoping we start attracting more people once again and get this board moving like it use to move.

I too have been reading and posting on this furum since 1998. It wasn't until I posted here that I really realized there was even such a thing as a pain management doctor. My neurologist strung me along for years, making me suffer needlessly with small amounts of pain meds.

By 2000, my pain was so severe and prolonged that my neuro SHOULD have referred me to pain management, yet never did. When I asked my neuro and my G.P. about pain management, I was told "you don't really need it" or "it's too drastic" or "that would be a treatment of last resort". If only THEY could feel the severe pain I suffer! By 2000, I'd already suffered for 10 years and had tried every non narcotic med in their arsenal, to no avail.

I'm just greatful to have a good pain doctor NOW, especially since my pain has gotten worse and worse over the years.

I agree that I wish we had more people on here. I remember when lots of people were posting every day, etc. But I'm also grateful for the people who are on here NOW. Chronic pain can be a lonely thing to endure, so I really do appreciate having a forum where we can discuss how the pain affects our lives, work, relationships, etc.

        Take Care,
        Eva

Hi Jim and everyone ~ I also post only occasionally, and I've been here since 1998. This forum has seen so many changes, and SO many have left. I wish they'd come back, but they probably can't find us. LOL I wish it was like the "old days" when this forum was so busy. We used to have a grand old time. LOL

I'm sorry you're still suffering --- I wish there was a cure for chronic pain. I wish they could just make us COMFORTABLE! But I don't see that happening any time soon.

Glad you're back, and hope you stay! Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee

              Hi All --

I've been reading/posting since 1999 too. Welcome back to all my old friends. Maybe this forum is "coming back".

              Pain free days for all.

Welcome back Jim. I have been a member here since 1999. I also posted a lot in this Forum.

I guess I was lucky having the neuro that I had. He treated me for about a year, then sat down and told me he could do nothing more for me, things had progressed to the point that surgery was out!! Well I didn't want surgery, but I had hoped he would at least have Something to help me have at least a little more life than I was having.

He refered me to a Pain Mamagement Dr. and I still go to him today. He has been good about trying to keep the pain levels down some, but he knows it will never go away. So, we all suffer together. Many different problems, but down deep the out come = Chronic Pain!

MountainMan, did you used to have what we called "a word for the day"? If it was you it would be nice if you could do this again. Welcome back to you too. I see a few comming back in now and again, but will be glad when more comes.

take care all, Jo aka Julia

                  Hi!

I visited the chat room daily in the late 90's, it was good for me to connect with others when my life was in such bad shape. My nickname is the same; I recognize MountainMan and Jim, others not so much. (I suffer from "CRS", [Can't Remember Sh*t] so there just might be others!! )

                    Julia -

I remember the daily word, but it wasn't from me, and I don't remember who posted it. Let's hope he/she comes back, too.
