My wife and I live in N.E. PA. With the cold weather etc. here, we would love to move to a warmer state. In fact would love to move to South Carolina. Here is the problem. I have spine problems that I take meds for and other problems. I see a neurologist every 6 months for pain control that he gives me scripts for. These are meds from a work related injury that WC pays for, so I have to see him. I also see my PCP every 4 months for meds, blood work ,etc. I'm on SSD also. I am lost as to what to do to locate doctors I would need to see if I relocated. Has anyone here have any experience doing this ? Where would I start ? Thanks for any help or ideas. I feel I am stuck here for the rest of my life, plus I don't feel it's fair for my wife. Sometimes I think it would be better to divorce her so she can do what she wants lol.

Thanks for that idea Mal L. I never thought about my doctors listing from med school. I will check on that.Originally posted by Mal L View PostWhere I started was to tell my existing doctor and he looked up possible new replacements in catalogs listing doctors in the new area - also in a listing of doctors from his med school.Think not that you are limited because of what you cannot do, but think instead of all you have, the talents God has given you. Alex44, Thank you for ideas and help by posting your reply.Originally posted by alex44 View PostBurr - I would start the search NOW - P/M is getting harder to get and good docs are hard to find. If it were me, I would get a copy of my medical records from all providers, this could speed things up for you. Good Luck

Burr, one of many problems those of us with CP deal with in life. It is a very tough thing to go through unless we get lucky enough to find a good dr right off the bat. I would google doctors in SC and find a site that rates those doctors as a start. Just using the internet will give you more info than you know and it is something your wife can help you with on days you can't get on line.
I hope your move goes smoothly and you find a nice community to live in with doctors that are good about pain treatment.1979 spinal issues, 1993 lumbar microdisectomy L3-4, 1996 360 3 level lumbar fusion L2-5, 1999 open thoractomy fusion T8-9,

Mark N,
Thanks for that idea. You no, I use Google all the time, but never thought of it. It would be awhile before that could happen. We would have to sell the home we are in now. With the way homes are selling now, that could be awhile, unless we have to sell it way below what it's worth. Home prices have really fallen. I was curious if anyone has done it. These are all good ideas. Thanks everyone and keep them coming !Think not that you are limited because of what you cannot do, but think instead of all you have, the talents God has given you. " D.
