Nerve Pain in foot and med question

Hi guys, hope yer all havin' a good holiday weekend.

I have a seriously painful plantar fibroma in the arch of my foot and the nerves are tangled up in it. I have Neurontin and am wondering if it would help with this particular pain. I do have other pain meds but I have to take more than my normal dose or a dose of two different kinds of pain meds to even touch it. Then it takes a long time to kick in, barely takes the edge off and is short lived.

I haven't used any of my Neurontin for this because of it's particular SEs. I can turn into a blabbing spaz lol. Not good for public runs but at home would be fine. Just would rather not take yet another med if it is not going to help. Any info, experiences

    hi there

l deal with Peripheral Neuroapathy throughout my body. It is real bad in my feet -like I am walking on broken glass, hot coals, etc. so I know where you are coming from. I cannot take neurontin either - it makes me a total idiot:). I have had luck with Clonadine, it is for High blood pressure, but was recently approved for peripheral neuropathy and my thinkink is if it quiets nerve pain, maybe it could work for you - talk to your Dr. - I wish I had more to offer, I hope it gets better for you, having lived in CP for the last 15 years and finally getting relief 12-13 years ago, I had to switch from the VA (major shake-up at the outpatient clinic due to INCOMPETENCE to medicaid (my choice) and get much better care.

Christina, I get good results from Cymbalta for my neuropathic pain but some people don't do well with the medication. My wife had to stop using it as it made it difficult for her to urinate, one of the SE. Good luck finding a med that works on your foot pain.
