My New Article On Surviving Unbearable Pain Without Losing Your Sanity

I went through almost 3 years of sheer hell with pain while I was waiting to find help with both hips, which had been destroyed by arthritis. I'd already suffered for over 12 years with back pain from failed surgeries, nerve damage, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, blah blah... but the hip pain was unbearable many times. I was finally able to get help last year when I found a surgeon brave enough to take on my high-risk case, and had both hips replaced, one at a time.

I've spent the last year recovering and gaining strength. Last month was the one year anniversary of the last surgery, and I decided it was time to write about what I'd been through and how I survived it without totally losing my sanity.

Hope it helps you in some small way. Best to you, -Sheila

Shelia, your letter is very good and a great read especially for people starting on their CP trip. The first section of your post could have been written by me and yes I see the light gone out of my eyes in pictures, my wife has commented on it not understanding it was pain not unhappiness. I fought pain for so long continuing to work and do things I wanted despite the pain while going through 3 spinal surgeries in a decade. My two fusions were successful but it became clear it was only a matter of time before my deteriorating spine would put me down. It still doesn't get my soul down but pain has won the battle with my body although not the overwhelming victory pain wanted to win. Thank you for posting the link to your blog.
