Just Saying Hey.... And My New Article On Surviving Severe Pain

Hi, it's literally been years since I've stopped in... just received my annual birthday note from the forums here and thought I'd pop in and see if any of the "old gang" are still hanging out here. I'm still going through all the same-old same-old pain stuff. In the past three years I've had both hips and one knee replaced which helped a lot with the unbearable pain I was having from each of those, so that's a plus. In addition to my back issues, I now am dealing with CPPD arthritis in my hands and severe pains from open wounds in my legs, along with a shoulder that probably needs to be replaced. In short, I pretty much hurt from head to toe. I have a great pain doc who is trying to work with me on all this but despite that most of the time I cruise around between level 6-8 with spikes higher when I go to the wound center to get "tortured." I rely on a chiro a lot to keep me upright and walking. Anyway, like I said just wanted to say hey and see what's going on with everyone. I recently wrote an article about surviving pain and I would really appreciate your feedback on it - anything I didn't cover that I should have, etc. You can check it out at: Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register...

If you like it, I'd appreciate it if you share it via your social media. I really want this info to get out there to help people who are surviving unbearable pain. Thanks and hope to get back reacquainted with everyone!

Shelia, hi it is good to see you once again. I am sorry to hear about all the pain issues you are dealing with. All those surgeries aren't any fun as I found out during my decade of surgeries [the 1990s]. I choose to limit my dose of pain medication so I usually deal with pain in the 6-8 level as I prefer pain over increased sedation. You sure have a whole list of pain issues and I will check out your article. Welcome back.

Your blog, I thought it was a good information blog for people to go to. It is easy to get overwhelmed by chronic pain so getting answers about the cause is often difficult to come up with. Keep up the good work as people are benefitting from the info you are sharing with others.

      Hello Sheila,
I have not posted on here for a very long time. No excuses. I am so sorry to hear about all your severe pain issues. Wow, you have been through a lot. I had a shoulder replacement at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio a little over a year ago. The Dr who did the surgery is among the top 3 in the US He did a reverse shoulder replacement and after 4 days I went home with a pain pump and the tube inserted in the shoulder in order to minimize pain. I never had any pain to speak of until I started my PT. And even that was not bad. Had a great therapist.
I pray for some relief for you. Hoops
