    gluten free bun shapers

You can imagine the results I got when I googled this!

I've been baking gf buns (for veggie burgers), but my son would prefer that they actually "look" like buns! I found USA Pans Mini Round Cake Panel Pan, 6 Wells at Amazon that get good reviews (expensive though), and I've looked at some English muffin rings that are cheaper but look like more trouble. Anyone else use anything special for baking buns?

    Thanks!
Jamie (who is amazed I still have an account here and remembered my password - LOL!)

Did some research and I'm not too crazy about the "aluminized steel" with silicone coating that is intended to last for 600 uses on the USA pans I mentioned above...

Years ago I invested in mini springform pans that I got at Bed Bath and Beyond. I used to use them a lot but don't do much baking now. I made some really great hamburger buns in them using Cara's bread recipe (modified to be dairy and egg free). Since we do not eat baked goods from them daily I try to not be too concerned about the material the pan is made from (it is non stick coated carbon steel).

I used to use little pyrex dishes.

King Arthur Flour sells hamburger bun pans. They sell hotdog bun pans, too. It is a pan with six bun compartments. I bought one years ago and did use it often when I made buns. Now, with my daughter almost fully grown, and for the seldom times I need buns, I just buy glutino English muffins or Udi's hamburger buns.

I have not used my pan in years. I would be happy to send you my bun pan if you would like it. My gift to you and mother nature by recycling/reusing. If you want it, just message me with your address.

You are so sweet to offer! I checked out the bun pan on King Arthur (nice tip, btw!), and it IS the USA pan that I mentioned above. It must be a popular one - it got great reviews! But I'm not sure how I feel about the whole aluminized steel thing with the silicone coating that lasts for 600 uses! So I'll pass up the offer, but I DO appreciate it!!

ok! Offer stands to any one else who might be interested. Mine is about ten years old..so I am not sure it is the exact pan they are selling today.

I stumbled across some ceramic ramekin dishes at Walmart that were the perfect size for buns, so I bought them! I lined them with parchment paper when I made the buns and they worked great! They also have plastic lids, so I can use them for storage when I'm not baking buns!
