    Holidays Ettiquette Question

Hi all. As you know, I have family members with a lot of food allergies (soy, gluten, eggs, dairy, etc). I don't mind make foods that they can eat and enjoy, but I have a SIL who won't eat "Gluten free and vegan" food. If I bake rolls, or bread, or cookies or brownies, etc. It has to be GFV because of food allergies. What do I say so we have good, drama free holiday meals?

can you bake for your gang and anyone else who wants some and let your sil bring whatever she wants? has she tried your baked foods? sorry you have to deal with that drama over the holidays.

What does she do? Bring a box of wheat gluten and sprinkle it on her turkey? :) Seriously, how nutty. I have no useful advice other than to ignore her and serve what you want. I personally don't like people bringing gluten in my house.

I just make things that are GFV and let the people who need to know, know. Otherwise it's Too bad.

I can see not eating foods that contain allergens one cannot have. I can see turning down foods that raise blood sugar in a diabetic. But I cannot understand why someone would turn down a food just because it is GF or vegan - that is just crazy. I agree, ignore her.

I agree. It's just plain stupid. Does that mean not eating fruit and vegetables because they are GF, or bread because it is vegan?
