I am checking in. We had a very nice completely gluten free Thanksgiving. It was so nice not to have to keep a close eye on all the food and serving spoons to prevent a mix up.

just had to share a cute story. today i was out back with the 4 kids (my 3 grandkids and another little guy i babysit) and i came in to get the laundry to hang on the line. the laundry room is right inside the back door so i was still close. anyway, i suddenly hear our dog barking and he never barks, so i went running out and saw 2 of the grandkids, one is 2 1/2 and the other only 16 months, walking down the driveway toward a strange dog that is walking up the driveway. our dog, gambit, was standing between the kids and the dog and barking at the dog. good to know he's watching over them! Hi there. We had a good Thanksgiving too. That was despite our cooktop having an electrical fire the day before. We bought a new range and then bought a portable single burner stove to use until it arrives which should be this Friday or Saturday. I'm even canning on the thing. It takes a couple of hours to get to boiling, but it still works. We've been meaning to replace the cooktop with a range for a long time. I've been using a toaster oven for years now. The old oven stopped working and we got the toaster oven to make due until we got the range. Something else always seemed to come up. We had to remove the bottom cabinet and have an electrician out to wire in the plug. It really wasn't that hard. It's amazing how sometimes you put things off thinking they will be so hard and then when you just do them, you wish that you had done them long ago. All that cleaning of pre gluten free stuff out of the cupboards made me a little sick, but not bad. The kitchen should be much more usable by Christmas when we will have a fuller house with my daughter here from college.

Doesn't seem possible that it is December already. We had a nice Thanksgiving with a turkey that was raised on a farm about 10 miles from the house. We had to order it and it was delicious. No worries about any added ingredients. Very nice to have a really fresh, cage free bird for dinner.

This year we were able to make it to MO for a family visit at the beginning of November. Always wonderful to spend time with family. I even did the "Paint Run" with the little kids this year. A fun walk.

Stephanie it sounds like your kitchen challenges will be over soon when the new range.

Judy good to read that the dog is being protective of the little ones.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful healthy Christmas or holiday if you do not celebrate Christmas.

Guess I better post before we run out of December.

It is cold here in Little Rock and there was a coat of ice that kept me off the road for 3 days. Tomorrow I am heading north where it will be -1 for the high and -13 for the low. This is all for my grandkids. Hope I survive. The big problem is the pain in my hands and toes if they get cold. That is because of the residual neuropathy.

                Well, wish me luck.

Back from WI and boy was it cold! I did not venture outside very often. My grandkids are wonderful and will post a picture when I get them on my computer.
