Lyme disease cause paralysis and eye issues?

My friend has became paralyzed and is now experiencing progressive vision loss because their Lyme disease was completely untreated. Are there any support groups on Zoom or in Miami for people with neurologic problems from Lyme disease? Are there any tips on how to use a white cane for blind from a wheelchair?

This person has many physical disabilities as a result of nervous system malfunction.

Looks as if it may be rare but has definitely been observed. One little red flag about that link is that the paper is dated 1994, more than 20 years ago. An excellent doctor once said that medical research is of little value if it's more than 10 years old. So it would be good if more recent discussions could be found.

So my friend finally found a doc that knew what they were doing and turns out my friend has spine damage and brain damage causing a lot of bizarre problems with movement but Lyme is still a factor as well as a reaction to a medication perhaps.

I hope your friend can get some help with coping with vision loss. I've known some blind people, and with the right training it's possible to develop really remarkable skills.
