Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?
Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end
Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".
It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.
Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen
Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.
Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

I just put it the closet until after I see the doctor. The brisket picnic is still on and if I can't go kayaking with the group, I won't. I don't think of it much, I am so lucky that it was found when we were here and have so much support. My brother, L and his wife took Hank to a casino one day this week, just to give me a break.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Jan, do you need a caregiver? Well, just let me know. I think I was born being a caregiver or so it seems. I think of you and Hank so much. sounds like you need a caregiver for you as well as Hank. Fill me in, I can't seem to find any answers.

I'm still the caregiver here. He has no memory of me being in the hospital for a week. This past summer while we were in WI a tumor was discovered on my Pituitary Gland. I had so many blood test that by the time I got outta the hospital somebody could of put a garden hose up my butt and used me for a lawn sprinkler. The good news is that it is not causing growth hormones to be produced, which would have make parts of my face to get bigger. Also my hands and feet to grow and God knows my feet are big enough. This week I saw a doctor in Abilene and he has taken yet another blood test. And he tells me that there is a surgeon in Abilene tha does the surgery should I need to go that route.
It's just a wait and test and hope for the best.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Jan, you are one remarkable lady. I haven't seen post from you in a few days and I get to worring, but heavenonly knows you have your hands full. I don't know a thing you can't do, so that has worked well for you, but now you have double the work and you still go right on, just like the Energizer Bunny.
Amazing, that's what you are and I love you dearly. I'm going to archives one day and capture "the most beautiful summer we ever had", lovenly given to us by Jan!
Thank you for all the love you have spread around, especially in the Alzheimers Forum.

The guy from Adult Protective Services was here today to do a follow-up. He was amazed on how unstressed and refreshed I looked. He kept commenting on it. What a little "me" time will do, eh? Of course I did get my hair cut and got some light golden blonde in it this past Friday !!!!!!I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Jan, it's nice to get a compliment eh? good for you! and it seems Hank is getting a bit too clever. perhaps you could ask that someone on staff walk you to the door? also am glad to know someone did a followup visit. restores a bit of faith in "the system"
I do hope you will have so many family members urging you to come visit this summer that you will rethink having fun versus visiting the NH so much. he won't know you're out in the kyak afterall. and we all so enjoy reading about your adventures & seeing your pic's!

Jan I can't say it often enough, I am so glad you are playing it safe. Myself, I know my hubby has low B12 and also that he does very little if anything to correct it. And as he overworks and is so grouchy at times, it really makes me stop and think just how much more so many people are dealing with than my petty problems. I hope it is a good summer for you as well. Before, during and after - in fact.Last edited by joy; 03-06-2012, 04:30 PM.

You know, every now and again we can smile at little things that happen, but sometimes it never gets to feel like lauging to the one it happens to.
I'm just going to
it out anyway. One of Kens uncles asked me if Ken had gonna over the "fit" that Mary had the night he was leaving. of course I never ever heard anything at all about this "fit".
Well uncle Fred said Mary followed Ken to the door, he tried to get her back so he could shut the door. He said that Mary threw her arms around his neck and would not turn loose and started screaming to take her home with him. He said Ken tried everything, but couldn't get anywhere. She followed him back to the nurses station and still had ahold of him. Finally Ken agreed to let the nurse go with them.
I could have told him that was NOT a good idea, but nobody ask me.
Fred said she did the same thing, beating up on Ken and the nurse. Ken finally got between the door and nurse and scooted out the door and closed it quickly. He said that Mary was screaming and kicking the door and carring on something awful.
Ask Uncle Fred what happened then. He looked at me and said, you'll have to ask Kenny about that part and he laughed.
Ken never did tell me about it and a long time later I asked him about it. He just blew me off and that was the end of that conversation.
Now he new Mary had hurt me many times and also her daughter, but he simply would not talk about it at all. I guess I'll never know.
Jan, I guess that is why I keep cautioning all of you to watch your back. It may never happen. People are different, but Mary had the strength of a bull when she got mad about something. Most times I never knew what set her off.
It's all so sad, but his Mom would never hurt a fly. If you were driving down the road and a skunk was waddling across the street she would grab the sterring wheel and almost make you have a wreck. Now that was BEFORE she got so sick. I think she already had AD, but we just didn't see it at the time.
I just wish the best for all of you and the one that is ill. My heart aches for you all and if I could make it go away I would. Take care everybody and may God bless us all
I love you JuliaDid you ever know that you're my hero and every thing I would like to be I can fly higher than an eagle
