Lor from what I am seeing you should be a large but there are like five measurements that are to be considered. I found a general size that says 15 1/2 on up for calf should be a Large.

9 1/4 in the ankle is the start for Large also.

Thankyou Chistina. This "Jobst" brand only has uoy measure toe & calf. But I think I am an extra large medium. I think I should have a large. The store better let me exchange them cause they were $60. Don't they also have them at the drug store? I sure do bet they are cheeper.

I would call the pharmacy and ask if they carry them before making a trip out. You should have no trouble returning them. They sold you the wrong ones. For the Jobst she based the size on your ankle instead of based on your calf which shows the large size. Not real bright.

Chistina, I went back & they wouldn't let me return or exchange them. However on the box it does say that 11"78 to 16"12
is a medium, & I'm 15/12. Tomorow I plan to go to Eire Pharmacy & get a large. Eire is a local drug store. (But I just lost $60)

Lor I lost a long complicated post - pared down to say if I have to I will put pillows inside a plastic laundry basket. I have the rectangle kind and pillows stuffed inside them will do enough to get my legs raised higher than my heart. Pillows alone will crush down.

My doctor back when I needed them first told me this. Raise legs higher than my heart two times a day in am and pm. This will help with swelling and you will get your rest also.

Anything sorta like what I said works. Hubby later took a comfortable comforter, a queen size at that. It was so thick and was way to warm even on coldest night we have to ever be really useful. He took and put in a large black sack, sucked the air out of that sack and put into a smaller size but heavy sack and with a pull type top. That sucker was so much trouble for him to store that I don't have the heart to EVER take it outta the sacks, LOL. Doubt I could unless I took a sharp knife and cut them out, risking the chance of cutting into fabric.......

But it makes a wonderful big enough thing that I now use it to prop my legs up on it. It helps my hands also, the rest is the secret, afterall. , or part of it.

              Good luck sweety.

One of the ways to getting the compression stockings on is latex gloves If you wrap your hands around your leg the stocking will be gripped by the gloves and you can move them on your leg, Like to smooth out wrinkles in the fabric. And yes they are a struggle to put on, and the sales person should have taught you the best way to put them on.
