    Hi clouds z,

Unless you're buying food that is very out of date, the chances are it's safe. Food poisoning from contaminated food is really pretty rare though every time there's a case, it gets a lot of attention in the news.

If you use a microwave, it IS possible to get sick from food that isn't cooked thoroughly in it. Sometimes there are "cold spots" in microwaved food, and you do have to watch out for that problem.

For years I baked my own bread. I baked two or three loaves at a time and sliced and froze most of it and used it up over the next couple of months.

I stopped because it was too tiring. It was really an all-day project for me.

If you can invest in a bread-making machine, I understand that the whole process is much easier. Good luck if you decide to start baking bread!

Thanks Clouds. You reminded me I have a breadmaker. Maybe this weekend I'll make a loaf.

I believe when you eat almost any pre-made foods you are doing harm to yourself. Almost all of it is full of garbage. Hardly no one cooks from scratch. I believe that the low food grade level is responsible for the increase in Autism, Degenerative Diseases and many other things. Nobody wants to talk about that because who wants to be the one to publicly cry foul on something that is involved in the entire planet's daily necessities? You get people from the fringe that try to expose it but they just are not in a place of power enough to actually influence any major change.

I want to plant fruit trees here but I am researching first, looking for heirloom and making sure my veggies are not GMO or hybridized. People are beginning to understand and complain so gee they add organic to the choice at a ridiculously inflated price. Some companies are trying to go more natural. Shopping at your local Farmer's Market is always a win win and ask about how they grow their wares.

Clouds I have gotten burgers from a couple of popular fast food restaurants that have been pink in the middle, pizzas where the very center of the crust isn't finished. One time Shortcake got a staple in his box of chicken nuggets. You can bet they were practically on their knees groveling when we took it back. Should have gotten chicken nuggets for a lifetime lol. Looked like someone was having a stapler fight........what? Come on, at one point in your life you have to have had a staple fight, if not it should be on your bucket list, that and marshmallow fights

Lor I hate my bread maker. It makes decent "french bread" but it just is not the same as a perfectly baked fresh from the oven loaf. I use to use it all the time but right now it is in the bottom of the pantry. I dig it out when I get a real craving.

Christina, I just remembred, with the bread machine, the top of the loaf is very hard. Maybe soon as I take it out, I should bush it with melted butter. However, like you, I don't even remember when I last used it.
