I can't find the Castle Line with a websearch, but I am happy for you for finding what you like. Do they give you training? I would
    think it would be necessary.

        congrats, phyllis!

would you mind telling us a little bit about what your job is?

and i'm so happy you found something for even one night per week. who knows what it could turn into! is it in the mental health field? i know you said you were very interested in that.

i hope it is fulfilling for you and i think "air-heads" are always the wrong people to listen to . listen to your heart!

p.s. nice to see you, mal

Forgot to add, this is an "at home", job, so, it's perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A bunch of people work there, but, it's one, person at, a time. They have a phone and each, person, take the phone home for however, long, they like and answer it, that, way. Then, they pass it along to the next person. So, you let them know how many days, you're available, so, they know how many days, / nights, you can cover!!;) Like, let's say, you borrowed a friends' Cell. phone for, the night. If, that person got a call, the phone would ring at *your*, house! In other, words, people would be calling the number to the place, but, it would ring at my house. They'd be calling the
number for the organization, but, it would ring at my house or, the house of whomever, was doing it, at, the time. As if, they had a wrong number, but, they don't!! I'm actually, the one, they want!!! it's like, they'll be dialing the number for our organization, but, I'm the one, "on-call," so, I'll be answering!! It's one, person, at, a time.

              Phyllis

              P.S. I was so excited, I guess, I forgot, a *lot*?!...Lol

                Jeannie, thank you!!!

I'd be answering the phone, talking with people who are having a difficult time and just need
someone to talk to/ listen! Have you heard of The Samaritans? If so, it's that, type, of thing!!!

Not sure, why, I thought, this would work out???

I thought, it was going to be a bunch of people, working together and everyone would
be answering calls from the same place. That's not what it's like. They have their own phone
and phone number, *but*, they use a Cell. phone and people work in shifts. Anyhow, when your shift
is over, it's your responsibility to get the phone to the next person. ( Meaning, you need to have
transportation.) Also, you can only, let the caller talk for 15 minutes. (wouldn't work with me!)
I couldn't put a time-limit on someone who, needed to talk!) Also, at some point, I would need to go over
to the house of the people who, run the whole show, again. Not gonna happen!!! They have one hell,
of, a long flight of stairs!! I was only lucky, this time, because, the driver of my transportation was
willing to carry my chair up, but, their rule is, they're not supposed, to do it, because, a person could
easily, kill their back, doing that! In short, it was really, too involved. Oh, well!:( I was pretty much,
expecting this! I'm sure, some other opportunity will present itself!!;)

Phyllis,I'm so sorry that they didn't make any accommodations for some with a disability, especially a chair. It's too bad that they couldn't bend the rules a little bit so you could work with them. That seems like such a shame for a charitable organization that aims to do good for others. Actually it seems a bit hypocritical. My two cents.
