Surgery Update for bk_janae

Hi Everyone,
Bk_janae had surgery on July 3 2012. It was the 4 th one to fix her Syrnix. It goes the entire length of her spine. Her Neurosurgeon
contacted Childrens Hospital in Boston to figure out what to do. He went inbetween the folds of the cerebellum so he could place a stent into the
fourth ventricle. By doing this procedure the CSF could flow into the Spinal Column(Subarachnoid space) He did this procedure using Ultrasound.
We will do another MRI in 1 month. If improvement MRI in 3 months. If it is worse or no improvements we go to Boston Childrens Hospital. We
will continue to pray that this procedure worked. It would be wonderful if my daughter could have relief from her chronic headaches and nerve
pain. The situation does not help her JRA Please keep Bk_janae in your prayers

I will be praying that your daugther's surgery works for her. I hate it that little children have to have surgery for things. Wish that they didn't have too.

Hi Everyone

BK's surgery did not work. Her NeuroSurgeon consulted with other doctors at Boston Childrens before the last surgery. A stent was placed successfully but it did not fix the problem. The Syrnix remains. She still has chronic pain issues including JRA and Nerve pain and headches.
Her surgeon wants someone else to look at her. He has given us a referal to go somewhere else and a name of another doctor. Keep bk in
