    New Computer

My computer died last Sunday - 10 days ago. Last Monday was a holiday so I couldn't take it to the repair shop .... but it turned out to be so "sick" it could not be repaired, so I ordered a new one which arrived this afternoon. It's very, very difficult to live without a computer.

There seems to be a lot of death among older computers happening here at BT. I got a new iMac in February. Howie just got a new laptop.

The fact is that these wondrous computers, phones, notebooks, iPads, continually change, as technology improves. Most providers, including mine, are upgrading their networks now to 5G, which means that we need the latest devices to be compatible with the upgraded network.

Fiber optic networks are now competing in the cyberworld, as in my neighborhood, where they tore up our streets (but then repaired them) to place the fiber optic network. Then, they bring in a taco truck, park it on one of our streets, and the first 200 tacos are free, to get neighbors to sign up for fiber optic networks. So cable networks have to compete.

It is very difficult to live without a computer, or some device to connect to the internet.

When I think back to my childhood and how amazed we were with a tiny black and white TV, which only had a few hours of programs, I am stunned by how we communicate now. Remember rotary phones and party lines?

I feel fortunate that my old iMac, old cables, old modem, old cell phone lasted as long as they did. They more than paid for themselves! You'll be happy that you have a new computer, because you will be up to date and have more access than you did with you old computer.

Think of it as an adventure! Explore it! Enjoy it! And you probably won't have to replace it for a long time!

    Love & Light,

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Rose. I sure feel better to finally have this little machine in my house. Ten days was a terribly long time to be without.
