Based on the insufferable podcast and the one-and-only, obviously fake five-star rating on Amazon, I would say it's dollars-to-donuts that the book isn't worth spit, much less the price they are asking for it.

If it were at the library, fine. Maybe. Probably not unless you have nothing else in the world to do.

I don't think mental illness is funny, either. And making light of isolation? Possibly even worse. I don't get how you can make a joke out of any of it without faking it. That sort of "humor" is, at best, dishonest.

I have no interest in reading such a book. I would, however, be interested in your opinion of it once you have read it.

TIA. I look forward to your review.

I don't have a lot of time just now to hear the entire podcast and this excerpt from the book may not be an instance of poking fun at mental illness but the book doesn't look like my cup of tea at all. The story about the dog didn't strike me as funny in the least.

              • In an effort to counter these powerful misconceptions about OCD, the International OCD Foundation introduced the Illumination Award in 2014, to honor those in the media who portray OCD and related disorders in a respectful, accurate, and enlightening way, and who challenge stereotypes while fighting the stigma surrounding mental illness.
