I know I haven't been very vocal recently. My sister-in-law, Nancy, my brother's widow moved to Arizona last July. About 3-4 weeks ago she found out that she had stage 4 cancer of the colon, liver & adrenal glands. On April 5th God relived her pain and gave her perfect healing. I am celebrating that healing as she is now wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus, Lord and Savior. Although she was in pain for a couple of year, she didn't know about the cancer. She didn't have medical insurance.

Her memorial was in AZ, but I am going to plan a memorial here. Nancy has about a half of a gazillion friends in this area. The kids don't communicate well it seems and I really don't know what they are thinking.
I am just visiting Hank several times a week and we get into the same conversation as before. We sit in the dining room and when I've had enough I say that I have to go to the bathroom in hall 6 and just head out the door and leave. If we happen to be in his room, I tell him I have to speak to a nurse and then just walk pass the nurse's station and leave. I tell him to give me a kiss until I get back and (I think) he thinks it's sweet of me. Less stress that way.
I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Sorry to hear that your sil could not be one of the lucky ones that beat the cancer beast. When it comes to having that unbearable pain then it is for the better that her life on earth ceased. Whether or not if it was caught early enough and she would have had adequate insurance would be just speculation. Sometimes cancer doesn’t care how good your health insurance is.
It sounds like you have chosen a way that is not causing undue stress or commotion when you leave the NH after your visits with Hank.
Take Care of yourself

Jan, I am so sorry about your SIL. Although it is always sad to lose a family member it is good to know they are safe in the Lord Jesus arms. .I think of you and Hank a lot. I know first hand how hard it is to try getting thru a visit, same questions over and over. Then having to decide which way is best to leave with the least stress. You know what is best in your situation, but I finally had to stop going so much. Just know that we are still here for you no matter what.((((((( Jan & Hank))))))
my love, Julia

You all are in my prayers. I think of all you with what trials you have to deal with. I love you all and know there are bright spots for you to focus on. They may be few, but you can re-live them as often as need be.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

The Memorial Service was held this past Saturday. I made the memorial cards on my computer and had some very nice comments on them. Victory in Jesus was sung, followed by Where the Roses Never Fade. I read the card and then Amazing Grace was sung with the attendees joining in. Bro. James did his message, celebrating Nancy's life. Then several persons spoke of their memories of Nancy. Then there was a light lunch and fellowship afterwards. All 4 of her children were present and they were so happy we had this service. The one that was held in Arizona was not to their liking and here they were among the people who knew and loved their mother.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Our pastor does not do a "funeral service" rather it is a celebration of the loved one's life. Nancy worked with the children of our church and she had a special way with them. She could sit down with an unruly kid and in a few minutes the child would just settle down. She also headed the local Headstart. When we hired James as our pastor, Nancy was teaching the Wednesday evening services on JOB and she was so nervous when James sat in on her lessons James thought she did an excellent job. I guess I will always think of her and of her teaching JOB because of all she had to go through. The best word to describe Nancy is "sweet: and she disliked that description, but that is the best word for her. I'm sure it takes many angels to carry her crown for her in heaven.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........

Jan, you are a very special lady. You did a beautiful job writing Nancy's "celebration" for her family and friends. I know those songs and Victory In Jesus was very fitting. they all were, but I especially like Victory In Jesus.
I pray things are going better with Hank. I know how hard it is taking care of one with Alzheimer's Disease. If we find nothing else to be thankful for when it comes to Alzheimer's D. we can be thankful that we all found each other and I feel we have found friends for life. And to me that is beautiful!
May God Bless Us All, Julia

This past April I took care of my friends 2 small dogs for almost three weeks and that just about did me in. Her dogs are used of pooping in her house and they did the same here. They had never been that bad, just about every day I was picking up piles..... I had to rent a machine and the woman who cleans for me came and ran the machine for me. I told my friend that I could not take them because I would walk them as far as I could go, then had to walk home and then they use my house as their toilet. Dusty is so good even when he was at her house. My body won't take the exercise it takes to walk her critters.I'm just where God wants me to be, not one step ahead nor one step behind........
