So yesterday was Doctor Number 7. How'd it go? Well, he (like my GYN) is POLISH! YAY! Instant bonding! (I know it sounds silly, but it's the vibe. Like home. In a good way.)
Anyway, THIS doc is a rehab specialist. They're also called physiatrists (MDs who do a lot of osteo-manipulation and biomechanics to deal with pain). He BELIVED me about where I hurt and didn't pooh-pooh it as referred from my uterus! YAY!
THen he said what was wrong. EWWWW and YUCK. When I took my fall(s), I caused the right half of my pubic bone to slip half a centimeter higher than the left half (OW) and ditto the right side of my innominate (okay, they named it "unnamed", how WTF is that?). (BTW, innominate is what they call the pelvic bone complex, the ilium, pubic, sit bones all together). Anyway. he said the assessment can be very painful. Well, DUH. What ain't, these days?
THen he said, here's things we can do. Now, we can wait till next time or try it today, it's up to you.
I asked "Is it gonna hurt less if we wait?"
He said, "NO."
I said, "Do it."
We did it.
He positioned me on the table, and yanked my leg just so...and I felt it in my TEETH. Hand to God, in my EYEBALLS even! WHOA!
Then he pressed on a rotated vertebral disc (lumbar-5) and did so for 8 straight minutes. OW OW OW. Felt that one in my TOENAILS.
And he did a GREAT job explaining WHY I hurt the way I did/do.
Not to say I am out of pain. OW OW OW. When things are jammed 4 1/2 months, they do not go gentle. I am SO SORE. However, I was so much in pain to start, what's the diff? At least this means I have a chance to feel BETTER.
I find it easier to walk. I didn't need canes today! Ahhh....
So there's my life. I am icing my pelvis and heating my poor sore muscles. (Nothing new there.) And am exhausted. No surprise. I spend two weeks of every month recovering from the two weeks the endo hates me, so that on top of the rest? Yeah, I am a limp rag whose buttocks and lower back feel horse-stomped!
Anyway, thought I'd update y'all. After all this time---finally BELIEVED. But I tell ya, I hope we don't need to do that leg yank again. I swear it made my eyeballs and teeth rattle around! Yoiks!
