In 1960-s they thought autism and schizophrenia are related. Later on, this has been "disproven" and now the two disorders are thought of as completely separate. However, in 2012 study they have, again, proven that there is a relation (see Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... ) In particular they said that in schizophrenia families autism is 12 times more likely than elsewhere. Now credit should be given to where credit is due: so 1960-s researchers were right.
