    waiting...

I hate the waiting for test results! Kathleen's been complaining about her belly and butt for a few weeks. The Dr. ordered an xray that came back normal so no blockage. He also ordered stool and lots of blood work. What concerns me now is her random complaints about either an itchy hand or legs has increased to ddaily or twice a day. A couple weeks ago it changed to her hand is "burning", and the last few days it changed to her legs and hand are "burning". She gets frantic and cries unconsolably for about 30-40 minutes. I called the office a couple dyas ago and the nurse said she'd rack down the results, haven't heard back so I calle again first thing this morning. waiting..... I hope it can tell us something.

Praying for the results to come quickly and to be informative enough to explain what's going on! I know how it is - to have to wait when you don't have much say in the process and cannot speed it up (

Waiting can be so agonizing and frustrating. Hang in there.

Is there any possibility that the itching could actually be a circulatory issue? If it's exclusive to the extremities, that's my first thought. Next, any meds she's taking with itching as a side effect? Kidney function problems can sometimes cause itching. An allergic reaction?

I hope you have the test results and some kind of explanation from the doc's office now. Please let us know what you find out.

Well the labs all came back normal. Kathleen has an appointment with her orthopedic Dr. on Thursday. He wants to check her braces an help figure out why they're still hurting her even though she got the Botox her heel will not stay in the brace, an is bothering her. I will talk to him about the burning and itching. He follows her AAI (Atlanto Axial instability) an instability in her neck. This can pinch her spinal cord if it has changed. If it's not related to that I will talk with her neurologist. Since she has moyamoya she is always at risk for neurological issues TIA's, seizures, and strokes. Rose I will mention the circulation idea. Her hands an feet are very prone to get blue but when this is happening there isn't a color change. I'm going to look up her meds. Delzicol, synthroid, Oxybutynin, an asprin are what she takes.

Great news that Kathleen's labs are normal. Unfortunately, you're still in the dark. I hope Kathleen's ortho or neuro will have some ideas of possible causes, giving them a starting place for investigation and ruling in/out.

My heart goes out to you both. Mysteries are very frustrating!

          Keep us posted ~
