new date for surgery

I finally got a new date for my surgery. The surgeon said the sestamibi scan was helpful and showed that the lower left parathyroid is very large,(lit up like a christmas tree) he also said it was probably there when I had my surgery 7 years ago. Surgery will be January 30, although he has to check with his secretary to be sure she didn't already fill the slot. I will be so relieved when this is done. Keeping my fingers crossed the date work.

Is only the left parathyroid being removed? Will you need to take any medication once it's removed to replace hormones?

I'm sure all will go smoothly. I'll look forward to your update, once you're able to provide one.
