I have an MRI scheduled by by neurologist (in -network) at the hospital (in- network) that she is affliated with. I just got a letter from the insurance company that they have approved the MRI at another in-network place. Cna they do that - what;s the difference as long as I go to an in-network facility to have it done. All my other MRIs were done at the hospital not the new place my insurance company says to go to.

My guess is that there's been a slipup somewhere. Have you tried calling the insurance company about this? I'm pretty sure you can choose the provider, particularly when it's an in-network provider.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Yes, I called the insurance company's representative. The letter I got was from CareCore National, LLC, not my insurance company. It's unclear who they are and what they do other than schedule testing from the insurance company. I advised them that my MRI had already been scheduled by my doctor at the hospital she was affiliated and that I had always had my MRI's there. After they put me on hold, they did agree to approve that location.Last edited by newone; 11-01-2011, 08:45 AM.
