    Wow

    Hi

What a time I’ve had. About two weeks ago I noticed that my “good” side was feeling sorta numb. Thought, “Oh well, just another day.” Took a shower and, when drying myself, I fell. Broke four ribs and damaged my liver when the ribs cut it. Was in hospital for ten days. Liver and ribs are healing but body is now pretty much numb from neck down.

Didn’t know MS could bilaterally affect one, but that’s the case. New scars appear now in brain stem. Neuro says the new scars’ location allows any part of my bod to become tasked by MS. Well, after 30 years of the same old stuff, and thinking that my life is pretty mundane, along comes this big-assed flare. Wow, too frickin real for me.

Bummer! Glad you're on the mend and you soon return to your "normal", whatever that is! A nasty flare like that makes mundane sound pretty appealing. Take care.

Wow is right Tweeker! So sorry about this. I hope that you can get back to your base line and that this is not something that will remain with you. That was a pretty long time to stay in the hospital.

Keep us posted. We are all pulling for you.

Tweeker, I am so sorry to hear this! You say there is no feeling which is very much like having an odd feeling. I hope your motor skills are unaffected.

        Best to you,

Broken ribs suck. In my normal life a horse once kicked me in the chest, breaking two ribs. My sincerest sympathy to you. I really do know how broken ribs feel. And a 10 day hospital stay! Unfortunately, I know how that feels, too. To me, a 10 day hospital stay would equal three months progression. I sincerely hope that your experience was not the same.

That's always the way, isn't it? You just get comfy with something and, blammo! Life falls on you like a ton of bricks. John Lennon really did have it right, didn't he? Life is what happens when you were making other plans. I hope the outcome of all this isn't too bad for you.

Chris, you have such a sense of sympathy and a way with words, "Broken ribs suck." Well, in reality when one has broken ribs one is not able to suck to bring in the air into the lungs due to the trauma and the sheer pain involved. However, after a great deal of thought Chris, I can find no better way to describe the situation.

Tweeker, I am sorry you're having to deal with such a painful situation and one which persist for quite some time before completely healing. I've not had the experience of you and Chris, specifically broken ribs, so I have no first hand perspective. From all descriptions it is nasty and extremely painful since one must breath and every breath is a painful ordeal.

My thoughts and prayers shall be with you for quick healing. I wish I could do more.

Thanks for your kind words. Wife trying to cope with my failing health plus deal with random stupidity from people who work for her. Good Golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
