    Narcolepsy, autoimmune?

I read today's Jane Brody column in the NYTs Science section. Find it here:

It says that "the underpinnings" of narcolepsy are autoimmune w 70,000 brain cells that should regulate hypocretin dying. Hypocretin regulates sleep.

So, if you have one autoimmune disease.....

        Autoimmune Diseases

There are so many diagnosis that are considered to be "autoimmune" it boggles the mind. There are 100 debilitating diseases that cause the body to destroy itself. I am reading a very informative book entitled "The Autoimmune Epidemic" written by Donna Jackson Nakazawa. Most all of the diseases I have are autoimmune with the exception of the spinal problems which are due to a bad fall down a flight of wooden steps way back in 1966. These brain cells that have died and caused narcolepsy have a toxic source that has killed them.

A quote from the book "Environmental triggers have helped to triple disease rates in the last three decades". These triggers are man-made and include the chemicals sprayed from planes intended to produce rain and modify our climate. We don't really know what these chemicals are doing to our health and it will be years before the full consequences are known. We are just now discovering the connection between disease and toxic sites around the U.S. You can get the book at a reduced rate from Amazon.com and it is very revealing what this journalist has dug up and included in the book.
