    Opera Singer w MS

Barbara Quintiliani has both MS and another rare auto-immune disease, Churg- Strauss Syndrome. This, she would stress is the least important thing about her.

Here's a link to the Boston Sunday Globe front page article:

She's admirable! Thanks for posting this remarkable story.

    According to the article,

A drug given to suppress the MS damaged Quintiliani’s ovaries, taking away their chance to have children.
The drug isn't named. I didn't know any of the MS drugs could have that effect.
    SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

It truly is a remarkable story and life that she has had to live.

I wonder if it was one of the chemo drugs that damaged her ovaries - just don't know. Have not heard of that on here.

      Thanks for posting this Ann.

You don't even have to like classical sopranos to appreciate this.

        Bravo, Ms. Quintiliani.
