New Genes Implicated in MS according to study

Just to try out how posting is going to work on this new board, I'll post a few links to a study that has been getting some attention lately.

"Multiple sclerosis genes identified in largest-ever study of the disease" in the Guardian (UK), August 10, 2011:

I've checked the links. They should work.

Sheesh, that sounds like a tabloid headline or a chronic disease cartel!

        I helped

I contributed DNA to this study and have a letter from Dr Compton , seems such a good idea to identify the genes involved. Upto 57 now - WOW,

it makes me feel really good that their is such a postive outcome in such a short time.

If they can identify all these new genes and do so much stuff, why can't they come up with more to help us.Renee, love your new look, but miss the old one.Virginia

              I suppose..

That to date they hadn't yet identified the true cause of MS. What this study did i think was help prove beyond reasonable doubt , that its Immunological for sure.

How they then work out what all these 57 are doing to gang up on us is the next challenge!

I tend to agree that progress seems to takes years , decades....
