    Virginia ~

I know how you feel. We're going to be experiencing empty nest syndrome soon.

We just have to be happy that they are healthy and pray that they survive on their own.

    Love & Light,

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Looks like the same one that likes to sit out on that branch. If Mom and Dad will continue to bring food h/she might decide to live at home for awhile. It's hard out in the world. The other one is more adventurous.

They're both in the nest now, one just chilling but the other flying around, airborne for a few seconds at a time. While doing these show-offy performances, soaring over the nest briefly, he/she is managing to nudge his/her sibling.

Mom and dad have given them a great start, a childhood spent among leafy trees with plenty of good branches to practice on.

Here it is 12:30 Midnight and that one that likes that branch is still out there. The other one is in the nest. At least they are home for the night. Mom and Dad will not have to worry all night and stay up waiting.

Do Mom and Dad stay up waiting? Lately they've been nowhere in sight. I almost wondered if they were eager to kick the youngsters out of the nest. "Time to move on, kids"?

Both eaglets are gone today. Anyone know if they come back home at all now. The nest looks cleaner than usual. Maybe they are eating out these days.

They haven't left the nest yet. I just checked in and one of them is in the nest eating. Tail is to the camera, but when the eaglet/fledgling lifted her/his head, the feathers were dark, so I know it wasn't a parent.

And, wow! BIG! On page 1 of this thread, you posted a photo of the eaglets as babies, agate. They sure grew up quickly it seems!

Well, at least one is in for the evening I guess. Hasn't gone to bed yet, but at least that one is home. The other one is not.

One of them is expanding its horizons just now. Somehow it's found a stream and was wading around in it as well as checking out the plant life, flying up to sit on fallen branches, without a sign of any others in the family.

I learned that it won't get a white head until it's 5 years old.

A parent is in the nest right now with something that looks very unappetizing to eat. He/she is looking all around. No sign of youngins at this time. But food is there if they want it.

That unappetizing thing must be the thing that one of the youngsters is eating just now. It is anchoring down bits of it with a claw and pecking at it with its beak.

There's no accounting for tastes, I guess.

Why Agate that gourmet food! Only one child in sitting on the branch in a whipping wind at 12 midnight. Sibling is out and Mom and Dad are out.

When I checked this morning, both siblings were in the nest chowing down on breakfast. This evening, the youngest (smallest) was hopping back and forth from the closest branch to the nest. The larger one was well out on another branch.

Not yet ready to launch, but who can blame them? They have nice digs and all of their food delivered fresh!

That's fine with me, because I enjoy watching them. They'll be on their own soon enough. Until then, how wonderful it is to see them healthy and maturing.

Well, it's 11PM and both of them are home out in a tree on different branches, not in the nest. When they get grown do they sleep sitting up?

They're both officially fledged but who would want to leave that cozy nest? Mom and Dad might have to nudge them out eventually because Mom's home cooking, or whatever it is that they're eating, just can't be beat, and they're probably not eager to have to look for food for themselves.
