Ann, is so spoiled. She doesn't even change the bed linens anymore. Peter, on the other hand is way overworked.

The world has been waiting eagerly for my May step-count average, and now at last here it is:

1,360 steps averaged in May, based on a mere 23 days due to some pedometer problems

One of my lowest averages, unfortunately.

      June:

      6/1 - 1043 steps
      6/2 - 1775 "
      6/3 - 1006 "
      6/4 - 1591 "
      6/5 - 1853 "
      6/6 - 1636 "
      6/7 - 2156 "
      6/8 - 1517 "
      6/9 - 1790 "
      6/10 - 2222 "
      6/11 - 1533 "
      6/12 - 2273 "

            Fabulous numbers agate.
yesterday was the first time on teh evening after IVIG I was able to walk more than 150 steps: I walked 1100 steps.
Having severe constipation since teh surgery, and walking helps to stimulate the bowel, and I have restarted Miralax since no doc ppointmetns thi coming week. The last 3 enemas produced very little stool.
The RN said she is hearing bowel sounds and if i am passing gas, it isn’t a blockage and keep working at it: She said the surgery slowed down the motility on top of all the muscle relaxants that prevent the intestines from moving.
TheITB Pump is set too low. It will be 12 days to get it adjusted as doc is on vacation

Sunshine, is there a way of increasing the fiber in your diet? Seems to be a safe and easy way to help with constipation.

Surgery seems to bring on constipation in a big way, maybe because of the forced inactivity. It's great that you're getting back into walking!

                ((((((Hugs to All)))))) ~

Constipation can be a real battle, particularly when medications are causing it. If you aren't already trying these, I recommend them as an aid to a decent bowel movement: prunes, prune juice, dates, papaya, celery water (a stalk of celery in water in a blender will give you celery water).

That's great that you increased your steps. Perhaps you will see a positive change with your bowels as you continue increasing your steps.

Healing prayers continue for you and your loved one ~

                ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Constipation due to large quantities of Baclofen, Klonopin and Tizanidine is unlike normal constipation. The drugs stop the intestines from motility, as they are “muscle Relaxants”. Be assured I eat plenty of fiber, move as much as my legs let me move.

Miralax helps along with the enemas. The surgery apparently was a tipping point, a common cause of constipation. Hoping it will resolve in a few days now that I have a break between doc visits and can take the MIralax daily…..

Too bad about the enemas though. Not comfortable and a nuisance. Maybe you can figure out a way to get along without them.

Sunshine, I know you are miserable with the constipation and trying to rectify it, however it is so good to see you posting and to know you are doing some walking. I know you - you will push through this period, but unfortunately it will take time.

My late in the day walking is good again: This is after 12 days of very poor walking after surgery and then after pump adjustment . I attribute it to insufficient Baclofen post pump adjustment, i.e. Doc dropped Baclofen dose too quickly.
