Yes, but it would have to be a two seater. I don't think being strapped to the bottom of the wing would be much fun.

No sense of adventure? You'd have an excellent view.
About the XFiles program, I looked on the Comcast/Xfinity list of TV channels and didn't see one called Comet. Maybe it cunningly has another name that I don't know about, like Comcast, which likes to be called Xfinity sometimes.

I have Comcast, and it's the bottom rung which is the cheapest, and I have Comet. It's really the only channel I watch except when Star Trek comes on later on another channel."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

My understanding is that without a SIM card, I couldn't use the cellular data. I don't have WiFi, so I use cellular data on my iPad and my iPhone, and both have SIM cards.
Here's something, which may clarify it:

It can be aggravating, when it doesn't work.

It's nice that you have friendly, helpful neighbors. Your lunch visit with your neighbor sounds like it went well. It's probably a good idea that you and she are working together on choosing shrubs to ensure that you both get what you want.
When do you visit your doctor's office for your BP check? How is your BP and weakness these days?

Do you want to be Tom Cruise in "Top Gun?" Since you have never flown, you don't know whether you would become air sick. I've heard that is fairly common.
Play the lottery, and maybe you could win enough to buy a seat on Richard Branson's rocket. I think he has a plan to try to make it more affordable in the future. I don't know about Bezos and Musk. Branson seems to be more philanthropic than they are.
Jim flew quite a bit before coming to the U.S., and he thought that Branson was an honest man. He flew many different airlines, but Virgin Airlines was by far the best.
Jon, Michael and I flew in a 4 seater private plane for just a few minutes, which was long enough! I was terrified! Of course, they loved it! Private pilots offered to give free rides to people with disabilities, on a day set aside just for them. All air traffic in the area gave us plenty of space for the event.

I'm glad you found Comet. I thought you and Howie might find its website useful:

That predicted swath of rain turned out to be a mild drizzle. I hope it is enough to sustain my front grass for awhile. Our street is being slurry sealed on Monday, so we can't water that day or on Tuesday.
Prayers, and healing, positive energy to all ~

Rose, I've thought about that. I don't think I would need one, but I'll be sure and carry a barf bag. And Agate, yes Sunday will be a good day to catch up on X-files. It's a marathon starting at 1:00 pm. A few episodes, and you'll know the different characters."Given the millions of billions of Earth-like planets, life elsewhere in the Universe without a doubt, does exist."

I think we got all the rain Rose had been told she would get - plus our own today. We had flash flood warnings most of the day. It is very wet outside. I wonder if this will delay the plantings. I received my two timers for my hose in the mail today, but no instructions. However, there are instructions for these timers on the internet.
Well, I take back the nice things I said about our painters. They did not come back to paint my front door. In addition, when they put the gutter down spouts back up they turned them the wrong way. Mine had some drain hose going out from them. The one in the front is turned the wrong way. As my brother, who brought me home from Grayson's birthday party over a week ago pointed out that one is kind of pointing up hill a little and when it fills the water will spill out and run back down toward my foundation. I had intended to tell the painter when he came to do my door, but alas that was not to be, since he has not come. Our rain was quite hard today and I hope it hasn't already done any damage.
My neighbor who was here yesterday called me today and said there was a wet spot on her carpet and she didn't know where it came from. It is in her living room and she doesn't sit on the side of the room it is on. I asked if she could have been walking to the chair she sits in with something wet in her hand and she said no, not where it is located. She says it has to be coming from under the house. Then she said you know they took those things that come down from the gutters off when they painted and she said she thought something was wrong with what they did. Then I told her that I knew I had one turned wrong and don't know about the other two or three that I have. I also told her they were called downspouts.
She had called the emergency number for our management company and they informed her it was raining and it was the week-end and they didn't work on the week-end. She asked why they had the number then. She said she told them that it was not thundering and lightning, just raining and that they were men who could do this sort of thing. They never would send anyone out. I hope it is alright until they do. If there was water on my floor and I wasn't sure where it had come from I would be upset too. So, I pulled myself upstairs and looked around, then I went in all the rooms down here and looked in the closets.
Howie, I have flown quite a few times, some across country and some internationally and one time to and from Hawaii. I think you would enjoy a little trip up in the sky. I do not want to fly anymore. From what I hear, it is much different from when I was flying. People were much nicer back then for one thing and not angry and always trying to start problems.
One time when I was returning from Germany with my husband, we landed in New Jersey. The pilot made an approach to the runway to land and then aborted it and went back up in the sky. This is highly unusual. He circled a few times then made a landing and braked so hard that the plane seemed to slightly come up off the runway then went back down. It was a miracle the tires did not blow out. The plane was one that had 3 seats on both sides. It was jammed with people returning from Germany and other European countries. You could hear a collective sigh when everyone knew they were safe. We kind of decided the pilot was either making out with one of the stewardess or maybe having a little alcohol party in the cockpit. We had already thought it strange that at the very beginning of the flight he had casually walked through the passenger area speaking to all of us and then gone into the cockpit and announced a ball score on the microphone. He said he would keep us informed as to who won. We did not see or hear from him the rest of the very long flight. He stayed in the cockpit when we landed.
However, I was still young and full adventure and went on to fly many times after that. One of these days when there is again nothing going on here on the board I will tell you about one of my much later flights when a passenger tried to steal some of my luggage.
Agate, if you enjoy Twilight Zone and XFiles, this means you and Howie are kindred spirits. You two should have much to discuss after tomorrow. I like good mysteries, but not the scary ones like you guys are talking about.
Rose, according to my BP cuff, my BP is running, in my opinion, low. It gets down to around 105 to 108 and then in the afternoon it is about 116 to 118, then at night back down again. I am going back as soon as I can and have it checked by the nurse. Thanks for asking.

I haven't been on a plane since 1988 but planes always supplied their own "air sickness bags." You would find one it in the little pocket on the back of the seat in front of you. Everyone gets one. I've never known anyone to use one and never had the slightest problem myself. A bit of ear popping sometimes.Rose, I've thought about that. I don't think I would need one, but I'll be sure and carry a barf bag.
The airline hostess or whatever they're calling stewardesses now always went through a routine about what to do to activate the oxygen mask in case of emergency. They point out that the seats can be used as a "flotation device." I think that's in case the plane goes down over water.
It's all very helpful. I'm not sure the airlines are trying so hard to be helpful these days. They might be too busy with the new security measures.Last edited by agate; 10-09-2021, 09:27 PM.SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Can y'all see post #37 -- that long post I made that has a green background and says unapproved? I am asking because I was looking at my cellphone and I could not see it.
So, I came to my computer and I can now see it. Anyway, first it's here, then it's not and then it is. Oh Well, after 1AM my time, I need to be in bed.Virginia

It needed to be approved so I approved it. Still can't figure out why some posts are getting moderated
Question: Why can't I post links or pictures?
Question: Why can't I have a signature, avatar, or profile picture?
Question: What's wrong with my account?
Answer: You are in the "registered users" user group. This group is very limited in what it can do. This will annoy spammers to no end
Just keep posting once you have been registered for 30 days and have made 11 posts your account will be "unlocked".
It's really easy to put someone on ignore and it's strongly recommended that you do so with people who's posts you don't like.
Step 1 - log in
Step 2 - click on the "settings" link
Step 3 - click on the "edit ignore list" link on the left side of the screen
Step 4 - type (or paste if you copied and pasted it) the username of the person you want to ignore
Step 5 - click the "ok" button on the right of the screen
Easy peasy and will lower your blood pressure. One important note though, this won't hide quoted posts. It's an oversight on the developers part and it's not an easy thing to "fix." So if someone quotes someone you have ignored, you'll see the quote.
Alternatively when you click on a person's name and view their profile page, underneath their avatar, there is a option that says, "Ignore this person". Click that link and then click the yes button.

Considering how high your BP was prior to taking the new BP med, I think your BP is very low. What is your diastolic pressure? The bottom number is just as important as the top number. How is your heart rate? In a perfect world, the ideal BP is 120/80.
It sounds like your Association hired the lowest bidder for the painting job! There is no excuse for the downspouts to be installed improperly. If you and your neighbor have this problem, it's likely that other neighbors do as well. I highly recommend that you and your neighbor call tomorrow morning, when the office is open, and complain about the downspouts, your door sticking, etc. You might also want to send a letter of complaint to your Board for their next meeting. Just remember, this isn't free. You pay for these improvement with your Association fees.
I flew quite a bit eons ago, and I don't recall seeing the pilot before or after the flight. The pilot and flight crew have to go through an instrument check and communicate with the tower. Upon landing, the pilot and crew have to report to the tower and fill out paperwork (or now probably use a computer/iPad).
I worked for a company, which provided airport planning and transportation safety plans. So, I also was able to be in several different air traffic control towers. It's an extremely stressful job keeping all those planes safe, while sitting in a dark room on land. You'd be surprised how much communication goes on between the towers and the pilots during the entire process of the flight.
Hoping that your BP stabilizes soon.

Because you want to fly in a jet, which does all kinds of maneuvers, including flying upside down, you'd be wise to take a receptacle for any tossed cookies.

The term used now is flight attendant. Hostess and Stewardess reflected the all female population of flight servers, until men joined their ranks. Flight attendant is gender neutral.

Air sickness would probably cause me to not fly again. Of course, I'll never fly again anyway, but thankfully I never had air sickness. That would be even more concerning during COVID.
Today, I placed an Instacart order, so that I'm all stocked up for the big slurry seal tomorrow and Tuesday. The friendly, middle aged gentlemen, who delivered my order thanked me! He said, "I learned so much from your order! All the organic stuff, and the alternative meats! I didn't know that they existed! Now, I know where to find them, when I have other customers like you."
I laughed, "You mean, vegetarians?"
"Yeah," he chuckled, "I mean you eat so healthy! It was a pleasure shopping for you!"
A few of my shoppers over the years have said similar things to me. One shopper joked, "I want to come to your house for dinner!"
Prayers, healing, positive energy for all ~ stay safe, be well, and find joy every day ~

Last night between around 9pm and 4 am the pain from the waist down was excruciating. It felt like there was an army of worms running inside my legs up and down. It moved me to tears. I don't know what it is from. I am eliminating certain new supplements PCP put me on and then will restart them in a step wise fashion:
PCP upped D3 along with A and K to 10,000 IU of D3 from 5,000; started very low dose of Lipitor 10mg, started supplement of Iodine.
Internet suggests all but the Lipitor would not cause this. Lipitor might: I had never been on statins before this.
If it happens several more times, I will call Neuro: My regular appointment is in early November
