This message from Ralph (Tom Cat) is from yesterday evening:

It's been hectic these last few days. The back was really sore this morning, head was fuzzy, and the best I did was made me a couple of meals. With the fuzzy head, whenever I got up, it was hard to get any paperwork done.

At the end of the day, I got the chain saw out and cut up a 10 in diameter by 20+ ft black locust tree that has been partly in the driveway most of the winter. Most of it was buried in the snow though the winter. I'm sending you a picture of it, on the golf cart. It's very heavy and strong hardwood. It gives a good fire in the workshop stove. The 16-inch cut pieces weigh about 50 pounds each.

Enough work for the last hour of the day. So that's about how each day goes. Take care, and virtual hugs too.

Ralph, It looks like enough wood was cut at the end of the day for that to be a full days work. If you don't feel well in the mornings wait until later in the day to get your work done.

I read there was a tornado in Wisconsin. Hope it wasn't close to you.

      Take care,

I've sent your reply along to him. This was my reply:

it looks to me as if that golf cart must be carrying 400 lbs of wood. I know nothing about golf carts but that one must be quite sturdy. Congratulations on getting that job done--it sounds superhuman to me!

Quite a surprise! Tom Cat has been heard from but I don't yet have his OK for posting his message here. Virginia, I answered your PM .

Agate, I hope he tells you to release the message he sent. I can't begin to tell you how often I think of Ralph.

I don't know if he can reply. He said that the message he sent me on Facebook was typed by someone else. I replied but he may not have a way to get the reply. He gave his phone numbers and I might try calling him.

If you do call please tell him he has not been forgotten on BT and he is missed.

I called Ralph and he sounded pretty cheerful but he's been struggling with depression and isolation in addition to having had a couple of falls with fractures (ulna, then hip) and being in and out of rehab. He mentioned the cats though and he's still wondering what to do with Cat Dancer's dollhouse collection.

He asked to be remembered to everybody here. I'll try to call him now and then as I think he doesn't have very many people to talk to at all.

This is so bad Joan. If you feel free to give me his number I will get a call in once in awhile. I hate to see anyone in that position. It could happen to any of us who do not have a spouse or chi!dren.

                    Thank you for contacting him.

Agate, the PM is blank. It shows you sent one but nothing is there.

How strange. It's showing up in my Sent items folder as if it went through all right. I'm sending it again by copying and pasting it into a new PM. Hope you'll get it this time--and please let me know if you don't as there could be a problem of some kind. Are you getting and sending other PMs OK here at BT?

I finally found and got it open. Thanks Joan! The PM is set up different than when I last used it. I felt like I had to go around my elbow to get to my arm. I think that tells you how long it has been since I used the PM. Sorry you had to go to so much trouble.

Yes. the PM system has been hard for me to figure out too. I've found that using Go to Message Center works better for me than clicking on the other options. I replied to your PM just now.

I'll be back later when I'm less busy.
