    Correcting medical records not easy

I've never tried very hard to correct a medical record but there are some errors in mine that I'd like to fix. After reading this article, though, I don't think I'll bother.

From MedPage Today (September 15, 2021)--"Patients Can Get Medical Records Errors Amended, But It's Not Easy":

More on the accessibility of medical records in the same issue of MedPage Today--"Open Notes Shines Light on Errors in Patient Medical Records":

I urge people to read these two articles even if it looks like a bit of a slog to have to wade through. MS is poorly understood but very complex, and those who have it probably should be a very careful eye on every aspect of our medical care, especially what gets into our medical records. Doctors seem to have entirely too many patients and are overloaded. They've been careless about these records--and they've been able to get away with this carelessness.

    SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

Thanks for the articles. It is almost if not totally impossible to change something once it is in the computer. I have tried!

I have many errors all throughout my medical records. Diagnosis, comments, symptoms. I even have a copy of a letter written from one doc to the wrong doc containing some misinformation. When I confronted the doc on it she practically called me a liar. I stupidly didn't have the letter with me. Most of them don't listen, they put down what they want to put down.
