Sunshine 2's Keep On Moving Thread for April

Here's hoping Sunshine 2 will be able to keep up with this thread and be back among us soon.

This is the way she had been opening the thread:

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

REMEMBER: this is a keep on moving thread, not keep on exercising! Any moving is important it doesn't have to be exercise! Even Science proves that.
My March average step count was 1504 steps/day. It hasn't been that high since April 2021.

Gee Agate, you have been doing some stepping. Good for you. Must have had some nice days when you could get out.

Thanks! I've been pretty busy and probably had to take more steps than usual. I keep intending to get on with the sit-to-stand routine in the CanDo MS video but somehow haven't yet got around to it. It's really important though and so I'm going to try harder.

Agate, I know what you mean about being busy. I have been busy with trying to redo my kitchen and have not been doing my exercise like I should. Eric had planned on taking me the places I need to go so he could let me out right at the front door and save me some steps, but of course with things in a mess for him with his house he will not be able to do that. Nothing has even been started yet with him and they are going to have to pick out almost all new stuff for his house, but I think it is the insurance company that is the hold up. They say they are going to pay, but I don't think they have approved anything yet.

One of my sister-in-laws in Georgia had her town house burn. The fire was caused by a man who lived next door, but between the fire, water and smoke damage it had to be rebuilt. She lived with the SIL who called me yesterday. They are both widows. The one who called said she thought it was a year that her sister lived with her. This was a nice but fairly small townhouse. She said it was really hard trying to get receipts for every little thing. Eric says there are forms for every item and they have to be done in handwriting. He cannot do them on a typewriter or computer.

Could Eric hire someone temporarily to help with the paperwork? High school students who have typing and/or computer skills, maybe? So often there are capable high school students around who are looking for even temporary part-time work as it can be worked around their school schedule usually.

It might be far easier for Eric to plow through the red tape with some assistance with the picky details.

Hello all BT peeps, I am still here but having lots of physical problems that are taking a toll on my zest for life and affecting my hope to be back either at or in the ocean during summer. Beside my own family, surfing had been a huge joy and pleasure f9r me that only another surfer can understand. When in the wave, you feel like you are touching the face of God as crazy as that might sound
The ocean is continuing to change in the nature of its energy and other beautiful elements : without realizing it, YOU are changing as well to match the power of its flow of energy.....

Sunshine, glad to see you come out again. We never get over missing you. I am sorry your problems still linger on physically. That big ocean is still waiting for you and will be there when you can make it. I know that surfing has been your love and your passion, so do not give up. Are you still doing physical therapy and keeping your step count?

You are always on our minds around here.

                    What Virginia said!

I always enjoyed swimming and can well imagine what surfing must do for a person. Hope you can get back to it soon! And I believe you will!
