I saw these on the web the other day, really made me giggle. These were so my kind of humor.

I did have to chuckle about the above Suze-Q!

The reason I have not changed all my prescriptions is because while there are other drive-thru pharmacies they are all harder to get to. They are on even busier roads than this one is. I have mentioned this to the people who work in the pharmacy, but they just say they are doing as told to do. I have been hoping that things would straighten out, maybe new management or something. I noticed someone I didn't recognize recently working in the pharmacy. He appeared to be very young. Next time I have to go inside to the pharmacy I plan to ask more questions

I agree with Rose and others on the list of safeguards that should be on firearms. Glad to see Howie and others also agree. I think it might have been Suze-Q who stated that this should not be on the shoulders of mental health providers. After all not everyone who sees a mental health provider tells them everything and they don't have crystal balls to see what someone is really thinking. If all our lawmakers can come up with is some watered down puny bill I will be even more sickened by them. We must vote our conscience in a few months, but we need to have this on our minds when we start to vote.

I hope your concerns don't play out and that location remains, Virginia. I agree, location is a huge part of where I pick up meds too.

In an earlier post, I mentioned that the inventor of the AR-15 intended it for military use not civilian use. So, it is a military weapon. I don't know about this being true, Howie ~

but the deadlier a gun is, the tighter the regulations are, and the longer it takes to legally buy or sell such guns.
The Uvalde shooter was able to buy two AR-15s and a massive quantity of ammunition. If the regulations were tighter, then I would expect that he wouldn't have been able to buy them as easily as he did. What kind of military weapon is not the deadliest gun around? Civilians don't need to own military weapons.

SuzE-Q ~ I respectfully disagree with you that assault weapons should be available to use at shooting ranges. What is the purpose of shooting at targets with an automatic rifle? As you said, assault weapons are intended to kill as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time. It also seems possible that someone, with a bad intent, could use that weapon on people at the range or steal it to use outside of the range. This has happened ~ Google Chris Kyle. Different situation, but still relevant.

Uvalde is a small Texas town with two mortuaries. How many mental health professionals are likely to be in that area? Mental health professionals can only do so much, if patients are reluctant to reveal their inner selves and thoughts. Also, these kids aren't going to walk into a mental health professional's office on their own. Their parents, teachers, pediatricians, school counselors should be the ones to recognize that a child has issues and seek professional help for them.

I watched a brief interview today of an 18 year old Uvalde senior, who said that he went to school with and knew the shooter. He said that the shooter was not bullied. It was the other way around; the shooter bullied other students. He also said that the shooter was cruel to animals.

If this is true, then all of that behavior went unacknowledged by his parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, principals, and pediatrician.

Why won't the NRA bend on the age of eligibility to own an AR-15? Maybe it is because there are many young men between the ages of 17 and 20 years old, who buy them to shoot as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time?

      Money. Power. Greed. Corruption.

We have Congressional Representatives, who pose for photos, holding their AR-15s.

Meanwhile, today was the first day of funerals for the children, who were murdered. They have 21 funerals to attend, 22 if Joe Garcia, who died of a heart attack, is included.

We have to make a change. It is up to us. Vote.

      Love & Light,

      ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yes, there is a risk of someone being killed at the shooting range. I do know the Kyle death (being a movie with Bradley Cooper and all). Of course there is always a risk at a firing range. There is also ways to prevent the weapon from being removed or limit who is allowed to even use it. The good thing about getting these high capacity weapons out of the general public is you can then control the circumstances under which you will allow their use at all.

Society deems a firing range to be an environment where risks are acceptable. I suppose I was not letting my own level of absolute disinterest in ever firing this weapon be applicable to everyone and it was a compromise to allow those with an interest to continue to be able to use it in a protected space. I may not understand the interest but that doesn't mean others don't have it. There are certainly ways to close off those using it from everyone else, if needed, although I imagine a Chris Kyle situation could have occurred with ANY weapon, it's not the automatic nature of the weapon that mattered so much as the proximity to another person while holding a weapon at all. I'm sure the guns could be made to be completely immobilized if taken out of the protected space. You could require any and all investigations of the person as well even before allowing anyone to use it even in a closed and protected environment.

I mean, aren't there so many simulators in games out there now, I don't know how popular it would be to have to jump through so many hoops in order to handle a such a real life weapon. But it would at least not remove the opportunity entirely for those who qualify and want to, yet still protect the public. Ranges wouldn't have to take on the risk, it would be their choice. But it would also protect the innocent public which is the main objective.
