I don't know how accurate this new pedometer is. There may be some really wild stepcounts. That one is probably off but on some days I've made a lot of trips to the laundry room because the machines were in use and I had to keep going back until one was free.

Good point, Virginia! Howie's answer to the lack of a washing machine has been just not to do laundry if I understand this right. Or he handwashes things in the bathtub. He has it all worked out, and it's all just as simple as pulling his own teeth. Simple, painless--well, maybe not so painless....
Maybe this shouldn't be where Howie can see it but it might tide him over until he gets that washer I just know he'll get. He would need to get a salad spinner with a pull cord as demonstrated in the video. I've never used one of those salad spinners but it looks as if it would actually work--for laundry as well as for salads:

Oh yes you are right. His dryer works fine. It is washer that makes him bend over the tub.
Howie, a couple of years ago when the pandemic was so bad it was my dryer that went out. I tried for hours with both Home Depot and Lowes to get a new one, but it was during the period where you couldn't get any kind of appliance. I finally called a man who worked on appliances. He came and changed the fuse. It was a 10 minute job. That's the dryer I am using now. (knock on wood). Do you think calling a repairman is a possibility for you.Virginia
