New MS drug: Briumvi (ublituximab) has FDA approval

Another new MS drug, ublituximab, has been approved by the FDA. Like many other MS drugs, it had to have a difficult name: Briumvi. I find this hard to pronounce but maybe it will work well for those who take it.

If you can say that name three times fast, it's free!!!

I guess people don't have to pronounce it--just take it, but it could be inconvenient if you go to your friendly neighborhood infusion center and they ask what drug you're there to have, and you say, "That MS drug that starts with a B." There are a couple of others that start with B, and so I don't know why the drug companies can't come up with drug names that an average person can pronounce.

I apologize for my bad attitude.

Briumvi will cost about $59,000 a year. To quote the article linked below, "This makes it the lowest-priced Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... (DMT) available in the market for MS." Is Briumvi a bargain or what?

I see that it destroys B cells. That is the reason my Doctor didn't want me on Ocrevus. He said by destroying b cells it could cause infections to start. But then I am older and this would not be as likely to happen to a little younger person. As we get older b cells are harder for our bodies to produce. An hour every six months sounds great.

I wonder what Linda is on now. I also wonder how she and John are doing.

I hesitate to inquire about people who haven't shown up lately because some people don't want to be inquired about but I hope Linda will check in soon.
