Gordon Lightfoot and the benefits of music

I was saddened to learn that Gordon Lightfoot has died.

Some of his songs really brightened up my life at a time when I was having a bad time. I thought of the radio as one of my friends back then, especially during the 5 years it took for Social Security to decide I was disabled enough for disability benefits. (They had approved me without a problem and two years had passed, but then they decided to do a review, and the legal case dragged on for 5 years while I tried to restore the benefits.) During those years things weren't easy. But a bit of music that I liked always cheered me up, and among the songs I was always glad when the radio played them was this one, as well as a couple of others by Gordon Lightfoot:

I can't recall whether music posting have been outlawed here, and so I'm taking a chance and posting this one. If it's not OK, the moderators can of course delete it.

Gordon Lightfoot was one of my favorite musicians and composers.

Sundown remains my favorite song of his.

      He will be greatly missed.
