Sunshine 2's Keep On Moving thread - January 2024

No word from Sunshine 2--hope she's doing all right but am concerned. Here is the text of the thread she initiated, which we're carrying forward:

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

REMEMBER: this is a keep on moving thread, not keep on exercising! Any moving is important it doesn't have to be exercise! Even Science proves that.
My step counts in December averaged 1,800 per day, based on 29 days. November's count was 1949 but that seems to have been near the all-time high. I have stepcount averages going back to July 2020, when for some reason it was 2,095, but that was a record so far as I know.

A while back I probably mentioned that I was lifting 1-lb. weights 3 times a week, 15 reps on each of those days. I started that months ago and now I can report that I'm gradually moving up to 2-lb. weights. Today I was able to do 7 lifts of the 2-lb. weights, followed by 8 with the 1-lb. weights. I like to think that my arms are getting stronger.

I count 1-2-3 as I do the lift, then 1-2-3 as I hold it, then 1-2-3 again as I lower my arms. It's boring but I've seen it recommended so often that I thought it was worth doing.

It's great to have a cheering section--it builds morale.

Bring on those lovelies yelling and waving pompoms. (Male lovelies preferred.)

Maybe I should add those to my routine. I am doing the leg exercises only. I have the 1 and 2 lb weights. Agate, do you remember how many times you did each arm when you first started.

The exercise book I look into now and then said 15 at a time but I started with about 10 if I remember right.

Yesterday I did 8 with the 2-lb. weights and then I gave out and switched back to the 1-lb. weights for 7 more.

I've been so busy with the Weather and the cough syrup and in the last couple of days a phone problem that I haven't got around to posting any step counts. To end the suspense here, since everyone has been waiting for these, I'm sure, here are some at long last.

              1/18/24 - 1956 steps
              1/19/24 - 1921 "

              1/21/24 - 1623 "
              1/22/24 - 1891 "
              1/23/24 - 3127 "
              1/24/24 - 1727 "

Those may have been days when I couldn't get a washer or dryer in the laundry room because they were all in use and I may have had to make several more trips there. The laundry room is clear across the length of this building for me but seems very close compared to the previous building, where it was on the 7th floor and I was on the first, with a slow and quirky elevator.
