Sunshine 2's Keep On Moving thread - March 2024

Here is Sunshine's original message, being carried over in her absence (hope you are looking in, Sunshine, and doing better these days!)

MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.

Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.

REMEMBER: this is a keep on moving thread, not keep on exercising! Any moving is important it doesn't have to be exercise! Even Science proves that.
My February step counts averaged out to a record-breaking 1,995 steps/day, based on 28 days.
    SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

I was thrilled with that average too, Virginia, since I've been eating entirely too many snack items lately and would like to think I've been walking off any weight I might have been putting on.

For years several pairs of perfectly good pants were hanging in the closet unworn because I no longer fit into them. Then about a year ago I lost some weight, and suddenly I had what seemed like new pants without having to buy them. I've been enjoying having them to wear ever since and would hate it if they start getting too tight again, as I dislike shopping for clothes.

Buying clothes without going to a store is so risky. I've bought clothes this way for 40 years now, and online it's less risky than it was when using only a mail-order catalog because there are more options available, but still you don't know what a fabric really looks and feels like until you have the real thing in front of you, and you don't know about a fit until you try something on.

That is so true about buying clothes. I do miss going to stores and choosing things I want in person. I am glad the internet is available to us, but wish I didn't need it to choose clothes and shoes. I know I could do better in person.

Yes, it was a whole different life, wasn't it? Going to a store and being able to feel the fabrics and pick things out and even try them on?
