The eagerly awaited step count that I racked up on average for January is in process.
We should all keep on moving. But without overdoing it. I've been overdoing it lately and paying a price.
The first of the month is a busy time for me because I pay bills and sort out finances. This month it's been busier than usual because I have both OT and PT people coming, apparently once a week each, as well as an appointment to get to this week.
The building has scheduled two inspections. The first one was today, and the other will be in a couple of weeks. This always means a lot of scurrying around for me, catching up on housework mainly. So in the last couple of days I mopped one floor (left the other one), cleaned the bathroom, and vacuumed in addition to moving some things around for the inspection. They want everything removed from under both sinks, bedding pulled back at the corners, nothing on the windowsills, nothing on top of the stove, etc.
On top of that, three gadgets had developed problems recently, and I'd ordered replacements for (a) a vacuum, (b) a cassette player, and (c) the Talking Books player. They all arrived so promptly that I was amazed but I also had to deal with them and their packaging in a tidy way so that the place wouldn't be littered with packaging during the inspection. I've been busy unpacking and disposing of boxes and trying out these three new acquisitions.
This was a lot of muscle activity for me. I can sit and crochet, I can type at the keyboard, but lifting and reaching things repeatedly--that's very tiring. Yesterday I was so tired that I felt really terrible towards the end of the day and could hardly stumble my way to bed.
Too much moving can be bad.
MS creates some real challenges to keep on moving. It helps to inspire each other on how to find ways to move.
Did you stretch in your bed, swing your arms, roll side to side today? Or perhaps you did housework? Or exercised in a pool? Tracked your count of steps? Chased your cat around the home? Pushed the wheelchair wheels with your arms at the store? Post them here and we can support and egg each other on.
REMEMBER: This is a keep on moving thread, not keep on exercising! Any moving is important it doesn't have to be exercise! Even Science proves that.
