What a Choice Gabriella - Methotrexate, Imuran or Cellcept. None of them sound very enticing, but I guess you have to do something. You do have 3 to 6 months to do it, so I guess maybe you can try to find some others who have taken these drugs and get their imput as well as doing your own research.

How is your hubby - anything else on him?

      Hubby

Thanks for asking Virginia. He was also seen by my neuro at the same time as I was seen. He had looked over the C-scan and also wanted hubby to have the gastroendoscopy because of the scan showing "thickening of the stomach". We came home and scheduled it for Dec 7th. This is to rule out cancer in his stomach. The PCP wants him to have a thyroid ultrasound done of his thyroid as he has a nodule on it. It just goes on and on but I'm glad they are being so thorough in ruling out all the other possible causes for his problems.

Maybe by the end of the year he will have some answers to the continuing issues....weight loss being one of them....swallowing issues.....weakness....and back bending over due to muscle weakness. I went to the GNC store and got some more "Muscle Milk" which is a protein powder to mix up with strawberries, bananas, etc. which will hopefully put some weight back on him. He is down to 125 again. He had gained a few pounds on the chocolate powder but was tired of the same flavor. I wish he could be seen at Mayo Clinic but they have a six month waiting list so we'll keep seeing the local docs until they have run all the tests. If they don't find any other reason we are left with ALS "Motor Neuron Disease".

      Blessings,
      Gabriella

I'm sorry your husband's weight is still so low. Does the Mayo Clinic ever have cancellations? They could notify you, maybe, when an earlier time becomes available--?
        SPMS diagnosed 1980. Avonex 2001-2004. Copaxone 2006-2009. Glatopa (glatiramer acetate = Copaxone) 12/20 - 3/19/24.

If they do find anything with the Thyroid that can cause a host of problems as I am sure you know. The weight loss, swallowing and many others. But over all that would seem to be the lesser of several of the other things you are talking about.
