Rain , rain , and more rain! More than 5 inches in 36 hours a few days ago, then an inch a couple days ago now it's pouring and we have another 2 inches predicted in the next 18 hours. All of the rivers and streams in the area are at or above flood stage. Lawn is growing as we watch!

My 12 year old HP slimline computer finally went kaput after multiple repairs (I've spent $75 3x in the past 6 months getting it back up and running). So yesterday I got an ACER all in one computer with Windows 8. What a trip getting used to it! the Tech guy at Staples could not help me at all. He said I would just have to play around with it.

Now I have to figure out how to salvage all of my email addresses from back up files. So...if you are used to hearing from me and I seem to have gone silent, it is because of technical glitches that still need to be worked out.

DD, 2 Grands and their Monster Dog Levi, surprised me today
with a visit from my Doggy Pal for a much needed Mommy hug.
As blind and senile as he is now, his face lit up when he heard
my voice. Unlike him, he was never a lap dog, he was perfectly
content to stay on my lap. He misses me. Made my heart smile.

AWWWW he's so cute! I'm glad your DD brings him over for visits. He needs to see his Mommy as much as you need to see him. Keep smiling.

        Hugs,
        Joan

I'm doing OK, Sally, and thanks for asking. I've been busier than usual lately what with housing recertification paperwork, plus having to go for the fasting lab work they do on me every 3 months, and then there's the MS fatigue study I'm taking part in.

Your little dog is a treasure!

nuthatch (Joan), any improvement in the skin condition?

Peg, good luck with the family reunion! If it's hot, I think I'd let other people do most of the cooking and serving and cleanup... They might as well make themselves useful!

              Hi Agate,
Thanks for asking, but no, it's worse than ever since the prednisone is once again out of my system. I'm just trying to get past the weekend since no doctors are available. Still infected toe too even after 2 rounds of antibiotics. I'm at my wits end.

                Joan (nuthatch),

I do hope they figure out what is the matter so they can fix it! It sounds so very miserable. Have infectious disease folk taken a look? Wish I could think of something that would help.

I am wondering why steroids make it better. Steroids would make some viruses worse but why do they make infections better?

You get better- I'll keep thinking.

Joan, what a shame that this happening and refusing to stop.

Hope you're taking in lots of vitamins and nutritious food and not feeling too punk to eat and stay rested in spite of all of this.

Joan, should you be taking Prednizone with an infection?
My Neuro would always make sure I didn't have an infection
before giving me steroids. You are susceptable to infections
while on steroids. Maybe that why it won't go away. Maybe
                    you need an antibiotic instead?

                    Feel better soon.

Joan get better. I have gone into septic shock twice while doing IVSM. Now I do preventative IV antibiotics. Bad thing about that is it can grow super bugs that are drug resistant. So its sort of a balancing act.

We are preparing to go on vacation to a family reunion in Northern Wisconsin. We went up there 30 years ago on our honeymoon, and have not been back since. I have not flown since the year before 9/11 so I will get an education on the rules. The last year I worked seems like I flew for work almost every week. I hated not being home for the weekend so lots of times I flew home on Friday and back on Sunday night. I thought about spending a couple of days in Minneapolis as we have a stop there but I found out that while my tickets are cheaper they cannot be cancelled or changed. For ANY reason.

My sprinkler system is installed and the grass seeded. I realized that while I have planted hundreds of pounds of alfalfa seed I don't know much about grass. My daughter and SIL will be staying over here whiles we are gone so I don't have to worry about the farm.

It has been HOT in the mid 90's and Wednesday (as we are leaving) it is supposed to drop more than 25 degrees and a storm is blowing in. We are so far behind on rainfall that we cannot catch up this summer. We would have to get nearly 4" and that is NOT going to happen. The high desert only receives about 10" a year. We depend on snow pack to replenish our irrigation water and after less than average snow fall it is not looking to good. I could not imagine what the folks go through (yes, you Peg) who depend on rainfall, with the exception of first cutting of hay we harvest when its ready.

Gary, I think we are getting the rain you need. Our rainfall in June alone will equal what your annual rainfall is by the sound of it. Got up to 76 today here at the shore but 85 inland. Started raining again about 3 hours ago and is set to continue through the night and into the day tomorrow. Already nearly 8 inches here so far in June alone. Grass looks almost like a field ready to be mowed and baled 2-3 days after each cut.

Work has been a bit more manageable today but I felt like I was juggling Jell-O all day with the crises that were taking place, Realtors not being available to intervene, and 6 closings needing to be prepped before the end of the month. It's a lot sometimes but I know I am doing a good job and a much needed one.

Got a really good nursing job offer but it meant losing some freedom about sharing with the general MS population about therapies and trends. A drug company wanted me and that would mean I would not be able to speak (not just during paid working hours) about other therapies. I could not abide by those restrictions. It was a mutual parting of the ways after more than 6 weeks of interviews.

She is gorgeous and looks like our Bessie. Folks have told us to spray them with a hose or hold their nose in the water with which we have filled the hole. Somehow, those pieces of advice never seemed appropriate.
