Vitamin D: greater than 2,000 IU/day may be harmful
Hmm, wonder what kind of harm it does. I've been on 5,000 IU/day for a couple of years now and could swear I've been feeling better since I went on this larger dose.
I checked my licorice gummy bear's ingredients, and it says
natural and artificial flavoring, so I'm sure it isn't the total
Licorice root, if any, in my candy. I'm safe...yeaaaaaaaaa!!!
That list of no no's for PWMS, is a worst case scenerio, me
thinks? I don't believe in the immune system booster vitamin
ban (scare) The word "overdo" is the key. Anything we put in
our mouth, could harm us, if we overdo.

Today a friend (without any chronic disease) was relating how she was being poisoned by Vit.D-2 a few years ago. She was getting shots of D-2 (I don't know the dose) for over 2 years in relation to bone density problems. She had lost appetite, energy, constant diarrhea, felt nauseous, and a bunch of other symptoms. She had lost an unbelievable amount of weight. She was at the doctor's for another reason and thought she'd get her injection while there. The doctor asked to see the dose, was concerned and asked how long she'd been injecting. She took her off it and stopped over meds as well. Fortunately there was no permanent damage.
On the other hand, I've read more than once that people with MS are often low on Vit.D (D-3 I think) and B12, sometimes dangerously so. They have to take mega doses for a short time to bring it up to regular levels.
