DD May Be Having MS Problems Again?

This morn. she text me about, "had I heard about CCVIS". She said
that this morning, she attended an MS breakfast and a Doc was
talking about new meds and therapies. Told her all I've learned of
all the new and old meds and therapies, and that none of them were
even near a cure , and some of the meds could be deadly.

She thought I was being negative (she always accuses me of
that), so she said that she is going back to her Neuro (who she
said was a salesman for meds), to see what he says. I said, do
your homework and make a totally informed decision as to,
whether or not to take one of these meds and not just to
please the Doc pushing it.

She doesnt like to talk about it and she has been in remission
and denial for 6 yrs now and I'm scared for her!!!. This
would be a terrible time for this monster to raise it's devil's ugly
head at her. Just divorced, paying high alimoney, 4 children
at home to feed!! She has a good job but will she be able to
keep up?

Please say a little prayer for us. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear this news, Sally. I hope she doesn't have an exacerbation.

Her treatment choice may be different from your choice. Maddening, isn't it?

I'm so sorry about your daughter's tough times. (She's paying alimony? That sounds harsh, with 4 children!)

She'll probably study up well before she makes up her mind. It would be nice if grown kids listened to their moms more often but unfortunately they don't always....

Thanks Ann and Joan for your understanding. She did call back to
tell me that she was not having an attack. When I asked her what
local Doc it was, she said that it was a local med rep. I know she's
smart enough not to fall for their spiel! But I'll worry anyway. That's
what Mommy's do, no matter what age the kids...lol

Sorry if I'm being nosy, Sally, but why on earth would she have to pay alimony? Is he destitute?

He never worked. Stayed home and took care of the kids.....sorta.
She only has to pay it for 3 yrs, then he's on his own. He agreed
to a lesser amt., so he doesn't have to pay child support.
He got a pretty good deal. from the start.....el-jerko!!!

DD was taken to the hospital yesterday with a terrible virus. Her brother took her.
They did a spinal and found Viral Meningitis. They kept her overnight on liquids and
meds (anti viral?). She called this morning and says she feels much better. Has not
seen the Doc yet, but will let me know what he says.

I looked up VM and found that it can develop from a simple virus, if you have
an Autoimmune disease (MS+)and can be deadly. Needless to say, I had a fitful
night's sleep.

Waiting to hear. Will let you all know.

Doc was going to keep her another day, but changed his mind
and letting her come home to finish healing. Her fever is down
and she feels like she's going to live now. LOL! YEAAAA!!!

Sally, how terrible! But I'm so glad she seems to be on the mend. That must have been frightening.

[B]:) Hi everyone. Sally will your daughter consider taking LDN? I have had NO new symptoms in the 13 years I have been on LDN. Also NO further progression.

Maybe you can at least get her to go to Only registered and activated users can see links., Click Here To Register... and read about it. I took that print out to my primary 13 years ago and he saw that it was such a low dose that it could not hurt me so he wrote the script. I am so grateful I found LDN as I was having new symptoms every few months before LDN.

Thanks Jeanie. Shes been on LDN for the last 6 or 7 years.
It's the only thing she would take.

DD is much better this evening. Says she's going to the grocery tomorrow.
Hope she's not rushing things. I'd hate for her to have a relapse.

Sally, sorry to hear. I know firsthand it is really hard to watch others make choices we might not, especially when we care so much for them (no matter what the choices center around). I know I'm quite new to this board, but from your posts you strike me as someone who would be a great mom. I bet you equipped your daughter well to make these decisions.

I'm glad to hear she is feeling better.
